Leaving has never been sweeter.. Avantika Gargya who's the Ava of Kaava moves on to newer things while Kalpana Ramesh will continue taking Kaava forward. It's been a lovely 3 and a half years since we started with our combined design studio. 3 and a half years of learning, fun, design trips, design brainstorming, which we're going to miss doing with each other . She's supported here with a bright young team of architects and a loyal, hard-working, set of contractors who are more family now and less colleagues. This impromptu celebration is thanks to our electrical contractor Ravi. Out of the blue he got us cake and sweets to celebrate my farewell. This perhaps is the most touching farewell ever. The door opens to reveal a terrazo tile flooring, which is retained from the old house. A four poster bed, in teak wood, stained in a dark rich brown takes centre place in the bedroom. Linen curtains frame the bed. Light pastel yellow on the walls give this room a warm, sunny appeal. Wide Windows with built in seats tempt you to sit here curled up with a book.
