On August 1st, 2024, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Rajasthan hosted a cultural evening at Rambagh Palace, Jaipur, in honor of the Sixteenth Finance Commission.

Curated by Dancing Peacock, the evening showcased a Sitaar Sarangi Ensemble with India’s leading sitarists, sarangi players, and Tabla artists from the Sikar Gharana, along with a contemporary Kathak performance in a unique collaboration, depicting tradition and innovation to the core of Indian classical music.

The event also consists of an immersive experience of Rajasthan's rich cultural heritage, featuring Ghoomar and Kalbeliya dances, with the authentic foot-tapping Rajasthani Music by the Manganiars.

To mark World Heritage Day on 18th April, our co-founder, Mr. Vinod Joshi organized a Heritage Walk for the members of Friends of Rajasthan Tourism (FORT) in Jaipur's old walled city, a UNESCO World Heritage Monument.

During this captivating 2-hour heritage walk that starts from the Film Colony of Chaura Rasta and passes through Nanaji Patel ki gali, Sanghi Ji Jain temple and the well-planned streets and markets, aligned at 90-degree angles to ensure easy navigation. The walk is a unique experience of Jaipur's intricate past and vibrant culture through this immersive journey on foot.

Mr. Joshi initiated this walk in 2001 and over the last 25 years, he has extensively documented indigenous traditions and culture of Rajasthan and played a pivotal role in creating a series of pioneering heritage-based development initiatives.

The high energy Kalbelia (also Kalbeliya) dance is one of the most recognized icons of Rajasthan’s folk culture. Over the last few decades, their captivating dance has taken the centre-stage, especially among tourists.

Happy Hindu New Year to all! 🌟 Navvarsh is more than marking time, but an opportunity to forget the old and embrace the new year wholeheartedly.

Dancing Peacock designed cultural evenings on 29th and 30th March marking 10 years of FAF-Farriery Institute Dundlod, the only Institute to learn farriery in India.

The first evening featured an intimate concert by the Langas of Barmer and Jodhpur, showcasing centuries old folk songs with instruments like the sindhi sarangi, dholak, and khadtal. This small gathering was organized on the terrace of the institute under the stars.
The following evening was equally amazing, with performances by Manganiyars and Kalbeliya dancers from different villages across Rajasthan. Highlight of the evening was a group of talented kids who joined the senior Manganiyars onstage bridging generations through music and dance.

This cultural evening was celebrated on 30th March which also happens to be the day of Rajasthan’s foundation.
