Cambridge Innovative School hosted a Capacity Building Program on the National Curriculum Framework (NCF) on 3rd Juneโ2024 for the Foundational Stage, marking an important step in enhancing the educational experiences of young learners.
The program featured Ms. Anju Mehta, Principal of Swami Sant Dass Public School, Phagwara, and Chairperson of the Jalandhar Independent Schools Sahodaya Complex. Ms. Mehta, recognized as a Prestigious Principal by the FAP National Awards and a recipient of the Top 100 Principals Award by the EEC Awards, shared her extensive experience in NEP-2020, Values Education, Life Skills, and Mathematics for Secondary Classes.
Ms. Upasana Rishiraj, Vice Principal of Cambridge International School, Nakodar, also spoke at the event. A renowned CBSE Resource Person with 14 years of experience, Ms. Rishiraj has conducted workshops on Life Skills, Career Counseling, Classroom Management, Happy Classrooms, and the Teaching of English.
The NCF for the Foundational Stage focuses on building a strong educational foundation, fostering creativity, critical thinking, and holistic development. The program aimed to provide educators with a deeper understanding of the NCF and the tools needed to implement it effectively in classrooms. The event successfully equipped educators with essential strategies to enhance the foundational stage of education for young learners.

Rupees to Success: Shaping Financially Responsible Teachers
Cambridge Innovative School organized a session on Financial Literacy which was conducted by Mr. Rohit Pandey , Wealth Manager ICICI Direct and his team for the teachers of Cambridge on 27th May 2024. The school organized the session for the teachers with the objective to enhance teachers' understanding of essential financial concepts such as budgeting, saving, investing as well as foster financial well-being among teachers, enabling them to serve as role models for financial management.
The key speaker Mr. Rohit Pandey,made teachers aware about difference between savings and investment through discussions. He also updated the teachers with alternative methods of investments such Equity, Debt Mutual Funds and Gold. The teachers were also given suggestions for investments, Portfolio Creation and Portfolio Analysis.
Overall, it was an interactive and a fruitful session that provided clarity on various saving options and basic investment principles, highlighting the importance of long-term financial planning. The Chief Academic Officer, L.W.E.S., the Director of Operations L.W.E.S., and the Principal motivated the teachers to make well-crafted financial decisions, strengthen their financial independence, and be role models of financial Independence for their learners.
Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat (EBSB) is an initiative launched by the Government of India that facilitates cultural exchange by pairing different states, thereby encouraging mutual understanding and appreciation of each other's traditions, language, cuisine, and heritage. In the same stride the students of Grades I to XII of Cambridge Innovative School participated in the activity by bringing images that represent the beauty, culture, heritage, landmarks, and people of Odisha and Punjab. Whether it's breath-taking landscapes, traditional art forms, iconic monuments, mouth-watering cuisine, or vibrant festivals, the activity showcased the essence of these two remarkable states. They not only added colour and vibrancy to our Ek Bharat Shreshth Bharat Wall but also provide an opportunity for everyone to learn and appreciate the unique characteristics of Odisha and Punjab.

The Brainy Bouts Quiz, organized by the Science and Maths department of Cambridge Innovative School .The quiz aimed to promote critical thinking skills among Grade XI and XII Science students through questions covering Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Mathematics.
The First Round was held on 6th May, 2024.
In the second round, four teams were formed, each consisting of two students. These teams were carefully selected based on their performance in the first round.
In the culmination of the quiz, Team Quantum - Aarzoo
,Prachi Sharma, Maithili and Manroop claimed the top spot, followed closely by Team Plasma -Geshna, Sonali, Nandini, Aashima in second place, with Photon -Maahi, Jigisha, Shreeya and Vanshika securing the third position. Congratulations to all teams for their outstanding performances throughout the competition!

In the spirit of camaraderie and athleticism, Cambridge Innovative School proudly presented its Interhouse Basketball Tournament. This much-anticipated event brought together students from Grades VII to XII to showcase their skills, teamwork, and school spirit on the basketball court. With teams representing each house, the tournament fostered healthy competition and strengthened the bond within the school community. It also nurtured the holistic development of its students and fostered a culture of excellence both on and off the court. After all the matches the results were declared.
The Principal of the school Ms Kiranjoth Dhillon appreciated the remarkable performance of the students and congratulated the winners.
On May 6, 2024, Cambridge Innovative School took an initiative to help Psychology students of Grade XII, in exploring human minds by arranging a visit to ANR Hospital, one of the premier healthcare institutions renowned for its Psychiatric Department. The aim of this visit was to provide students with practical insights into the application of psychological theories and therapies in a clinical setting.The visit commenced with an orientation session conducted by clinical psychologists and healthcare professionals. Students were briefed on the hospital's psychiatric services, patient care protocols, and the role of psychology in healthcare. This introductory session set the stage for an intense learning experience. The highlight of the visit was the opportunity to observe live clinical sessions conducted by licensed psychologists and psychiatrists. Students witnessed various therapeutic approaches such as cognitive-behavioral therapy, psychodynamic therapy, and group therapy sessions. Through these observations, students gained firsthand experience in understanding the dynamics of therapist-client interactions and the practical application of psychological interventions.
The day that recognizes the essence of a mother, โMaterni Fiestaโ was celebrated in high spirits and merriment on 4th May, 2024 with a great fervour & zeal in โCambridge Innovative Schoolโ for Grade-1 mothers. Students put up a great show expressing their love for their mothers through Special Assembly wherein they sang beautiful song and heart touching speeches.
Through their performances they told that Motherโs unconditional love, support and feeling of a security blanket around us is unmatched. We celebrated the joy of โMotherhoodโ by organizing special games and activities.
It saw a good number of footfalls with enthusiastic mothers in the school campus, all set to spend a memorable fun-filled day with their children. Mothers showed great enthusiasm in all the activities organized by the teachers. There was sheer happiness on the faces of all the mothers and children. The winners of all the games were felicitated by tags.
The mothers were thankful for organizing such a event to spend quality time with their little prince or princess. All in all it was an enjoyable and memorable day for each and every one which left an indubitable mark on the innocent hearts.
Competitions play a role in motivating students to perform, excel and offers a chance for participants to gain substantial experience, showcase skills, analyze and evaluate outcomes and uncover personal aptitude. Ms. Abhiruchi Kalra led an engaging session on the science behind baking, captivating the attention of Grades XI - XII Home Science students. The session delved into the intricate chemical reactions that occur during the baking process, elucidating the role of ingredients such as flour, leavening agents, sugar, and fats.

Pioneer Parent Orientation for Grade-II

Orientation is an opportunity for the parents to get acclimated to the culture of the school โ the second home, its rules and expectations and get familiar with the faculty members,to learn their way around the campus, and find out more about the year ahead, curriculum requirements and pedagogy.
An orientation program for the parents to familiarize them, โas partners in progressโ with the school's approach to education, curriculum and assessment policy as per NEP 2020 was held in the school on 27th April,2024. The parents were addressed by the team of teachers and the Headmistress Ms Harleen Rehal. There were activities and brainstorming sessions to involve the parents for their equal participation in the academics and personality development of the students during their school journey.

Kindergarten orientation is a pivotal event for both parents and children as they embark on the exciting journey of formal education. It started with Ms Deepa Dogra ( Chief Academic Officer) apprising the school's vision and parents involvement as partners in education. Many fun-filled activities related to experiential learning, STEM learning, Jolly Phonics, and subject-based learning were organized for the parents to make them familiar with our teaching pedagogy and to promote parental involvement. The learning outcomes of these activities were also discussed. An informative presentation was also given to apprise the parents of the objectives and philosophy of the school. The principal also gave the parents an opportunity to have their queries answered. Overall, it was a fantastic and informative event !
An educational industrial tour of Verka Milk Plant was organised by Cambridge Innovative School, Jalandhar for the students of Grade Xl and Xll Commerce on 26th April, 2024. The purpose of visit was to provide them with a practical exposure to the dairy industry, enhance their understanding of milk processing procedures, and acquaint them with the modern technologies employed in dairy production. It was an enriching experience for students, providing them valuable insights into the dairy industry's operations and best practices. It fostered a deeper appreciation for the complexities of milk processing and the importance of technology and innovation in the industry.
In a kaleidoscope of colors, creativity, and charisma, Cambridge Innovative School today hosted its much-awaited Interhouse Ad Blitz Challenge, igniting a fervor of excitement and competition within the school premises.
The Interhouse Ad Blitz Challenge wasn't just about friendly competition; it was a platform for students to hone their communication skills, teamwork abilities, and confidence.The topic was presented 20 minutes prior the show and each team selected the topic by choosing the slips. Each participant brought something unique to the table, and every team member played a vital role in bringing their vision to life.
After all the performances the results were declared by the judges. Emerald house grabbed the first position for their spectacular performance and Sapphire house got the second position for their captivating and memorable performance and third position was won by Amethyst house. The Chief Academic Officer Ms Deepa Dogra, Principal Ms Kiranjoth Dhillon and Vice Principal Ms Preeti Sharma applauded the participants for their hardwork and dedication.

Books allow students an opportunity to be informed, entertained or escaped as they comprehend fiction and nonfiction texts against their understanding of the world, their personal insights, opinions and finally comparing those events to others. In order to inculcate reading habits among the young learners,
โEEKK โreading strategy was conducted for Grade-1 in which they read in pairs sitting side by side with knees and elbows touching. The enthusiasm and fervour among the young learners could be witnessed through their active participation. This reading activity turned out to be an extremely engaging experience mixing learning with fun.
For in the true nature of things, if we rightly consider, every green tree is far more glorious than if it were made of gold and silver.
World Earth Day is celebrated every year to raise awareness to save the environment and to protect the Earth from various forms of pollution, climate change, and overexploitation.
The day holds significance as it shifts our perspective, prompting us to see ourselves not separate from nature but intricately connected. As part of the Earth Day celebrations in CIS, a special assembly was conducted, beginning with a morning Prayer, dance and role plays. Students took a pledge in their respective classrooms to preserve and conserve the self-sustaining planet Earth.
Our Tiny Tots also participated in various activities like baloon dabbing, watering plants, school tour and collecting trash showcasing their awareness about conserving natural resources.
Unleashing the Power of Words: โDrop Everything and Read"
In a world filled with distractions, cultivating a love for reading is paramount. With this objective in mind, Cambridge Innovative School celebrated "Drop Everything and Read"(DEAR Time) activity on 23rd Aprilโ24, inviting students to pause their activities and immerse themselves in the world of literature.
During the event, students from grades I-XII, staff members and support staff were encouraged to drop everything they were doing and spend time engrossed in their favorite books. The activity aimed to promote literacy, ignite imaginations, and instill a lifelong love for reading among students. The event provided students with a valuable opportunity to escape into the realm of literature, explore new worlds, and expand their horizons through the written word. This activity promotes relaxation and stress reduction, serving as a break from academic demands and fostering a positive attitude towards learning. Moreover, by observing educators engaging in reading alongside them, students receive valuable modeling of lifelong learning habits, further motivating them to explore diverse literary genres and develop a passion for reading.
The event received an enthusiastic response from students across all grades, with young learners enthusiastically delving into their chosen reading materials and embracing the joy of reading.

Echoing the same, Cambridge Innovative School Jalandhar observed Earth Day on
22 nd April 2024.
The day commenced with a beautiful and informative assembly. Learners contributed in
this endeavour taking a pledge to save mother earth and water, besides a plethora of
educational and action โ oriented activities namely- Seed bombs, Calculating Carbon
Footprints, Memo Minder(Designing Helpful Reminders for school conserving energy,
cleanliness) etc. The school adopted a place from Municipal Corporation outside the school and carried out a Tree plantation drive for making this earth a greener and cleaner place for the future generations.
The school also observed an energy free hour and pledged to save water.
