COMPUTER COURSE BY INDIAN ARMY AT BADERKOT
In its endeavour to promote IT literacy among students, Indian Army organised Computer Course for a period of one month at Baderkot village of Ramban district. Computer course has witnessed attendance of 33 students including 15 girls. The training capsule is aimed at increasing awareness of IT education among students with an effort to bring them at par with their counterparts in other parts of the country. The training curriculum includes teaching the basics of computer operations. The interest and uptake level of attendees pleasantly surprised the instructors. Result of weekly test, stand testimony to the fact of intensive interest exhibited by students in the course. The course contributed immensely towards National mandate of provision of IT literacy to masses of rural areas. The participants are also provided certificates to testify the level of proficiency achieved by them during the course. A genuine concern coupled with Kind hearted approach of Indian Army is making constant endeavour for Nation building through National Integration.

WORLD COMPUTER LITERACY DAY
To commemorate the “World Computer Literacy Day” a lecture cm demonstration was organised by Indian Army at Govt Girls Middle School, Seklu. A total of 36 students attended the event. World Computer Literacy Day occurs annually on 02 December, and is intended to encourage the development of technological skills, particularly among children and women in India. In its own words, it aims to “create awareness and drive digital literacy in underserved communities worldwide. In view of the same basic knowledge on computer handling and its utility were explained to the students. The students actively participated in the event and expressed their desire to continue the classes on computer literacy. The event being a pilot proj, gradual and regular classes will be conducted for the benefit of the students. Such an event will go a long way in developing goodwill amongst the village populace and also will foster a positive image of Indian Army.

COVID -19 AWARENESS CAMP AND ANNUAL SPORTS MEET 2021 AT UPPER DHARANA GOVT SCHOOL
Indian Army organized a free medical cm Covid-19 awareness camp and Annual Sports meet 2021 at Upper Dharana Government School , that is located near the line of control area in Mendhar ( J&K).
This year “75 Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav” is being celebrated by the nation & Indian Army as per its ethos & tradition is reaching out to all the far flung areas, to provide all possible assistance & nurturing the young talent in the AOR. The event saw the participation of 150 children of all age groups in the Annual Sports meet. The med camp was of great assistance to all young & old which include checkup & free medicines.
The commanding officer of Mendhar Gunner’s appreciated the zeal and enthusiasm & sportsman spirit of the children. The Commanding officer awarded both the winners and runners up teams with prizes as a motivation & appreciation. While addressing the audience, which included children, parents & school staff, the commanding officer emphasized upon the importance of sports and games in our personal life and its role in moulding our personalities.
This noble intention and genuine reach out programme by Indian Army towards “AWWAM” was appreciated by the civil administration & local population of LC village and they expressed their gratitude towards the Commanding Officer of Mendhar Gunner’s & the medical team for their selfless work and the noble gesture. Such initiative by the Army strengthens the bond of friendship and positive commitment towards ‘AWAAM’.

DANGAL COMPETITION AT MAHORE, REASI
As part of Swarnim Vijay Varsh, Indian Army conducted Dangal Competition for youth at Mahore under project Sadbhavana. Sports events have always been an important means to establish connect between youth and Indian Army. The event has presented a significant platform for youth to showcase their talent. The objective of the tournament was to encourage youth and promote sports activities in the far flung areas. Total of 145 x civilian and 65 x wrestlers participated in the event in seven weight categories. The event was conducted over a period of five days, in which initial four days round matches were conducted on knock out basis and final wrestling match was conducted on 30 November 2021. All the wrestlers participated in the event with zeal and enthusiasm, displaying high quality of sportsmen spirit. The winners and runners up in all weight categories were felicitated at the culmination of the event. The event was graced by the presence of Mr. Benia Min, a wrestler who owns the title of Jammu Kesari along with Indian Army and various dignitaries from the civil administration. The tournament was a crowd puller and rekindled an enthusiasm among youth from the remote areas.

LITERACY INNOVATION IN KALAKOTE FOR BPL STUDENTs
Education is an imperative requirement for growth of any society. Indian Army perceived this requirement of students and came out with a project for conduct of Tuition Classes for Below Poverty Line (BPL) students. The aim of the project is to uplift the standard of education and to provide facilities in the remote areas of Kalakot. The peoples of this area are highly motivated to join Armed Forces and to serve the nation. Tuition classes for BPL Students have started at Military Education Node, Kalakot, Rajouri District from 29 November 2021 to 29 January 2022. The classes are being conducted for the students of class 10th so as to bridge capability gap in academic learning due to the COVID-19 lockdown and prepare them for the future Higher Secondary Examination. A total of 20 students (15 girls and 05 boys) from nearby villages joined the coaching classes. The syllabus books of English, Math, Science, Social Science and stationary are provided to students. The focus of conducting tuition classes is to provide free education to BPL students so that they perform up to their caliber in State Board Higher Secondary Examination. The families and public of village Kalakot conveyed their gratitude for conduct of Tuition Classes for BPL students. Such positive engagement also establishes the faith of youth in the system of the country and encourages them to contribute in national development.

DODA CRICKET LEAGUE TERMINATES AT SPORTS STADIUM DODA
Indian Army, Doda organised Doda Cricket League at Sports Stadium Doda from 19 Nov 21 to 29 Nov 21.The final match was played between Green Shaheen Doda Teamand Sazan Teamat Sports Stadium Doda. The match was contested with zeal and vigor not only by the players but also by the cheering crowd. Team Sazan emerged as winners. Total 32 teams from Dessa and Ghat bowls and approximately 200 villagers were present for the event. The event wasaimed at promoting sports amongst youth from remote villages of thearea to positively engage them. Sports also foster a healthy spirit of competition, discipline and will to excel amongst youth driving them to workhard. Cricket also binds students irrespective of caste, colour, creed and religion, thus promoting social and communal harmony. The people of the area whole heartedly appreciated the support provided by Indian Army to encourage the sports activities amongst youth in Doda.
