Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari launched Toyota’s first of its kind pilot project on Flexi-Fuel Strong Hybrid Electric Vehicles in India today.

These vehicles will run on 100 percent petrol as well as 20 to 100 percent blended ethanol and electric power.

Speaking on this occasion, Mr Gadkari said, the success of this pilot project will make India a global leader in the manufacture of these electric vehicles. He said such technologies are innovative, revolutionary, sustainable, cost-effective, energy-efficient and will completely transform the transportation sector in New India.

The Minister said, 6 to 8 percent increase in agricultural growth rate is necessary for AtmaNirbhar Bharat. He emphasized on importance of converting surplus foodgrain and sugar into ethanol for boosting rural economy.

Union Ministers Mahendranath Pandey, Bhupender Yadav, Rameswar Teli and other dignitaries were also present on the occasion.

The Election Commission has allotted the party's name Balasahebanchi Shiv Sena to the Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde-led group.

While the Commission has rejected the symbol of the party opted by the Shinde group saying that the three symbols furnished by this group are not in the list of free symbols as notified by the Commission. It has asked the Shinde group to furnish a fresh list of three symbols by 10 AM tomorrow.

While the Election Commission has allotted the Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) as the party name to the former Maharasthra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray-led faction. The Commission has also allotted Flaming Torch as a party symbol to it in the current Andheri East Bye-elections.

Earlier, the Election Commission barred both the groups led by former Maharastra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray and State Chief Minster Eknath Shinde from using the party name Shiv Sena in the upcoming Andheri East Bye-elections and till the final determination of the dispute in the matter.

On the occasion of 90th , Air Force Station Jammu inaugurated the Station Conference Hall dedicated to 'son of the Soil' braveheart, Flt Lt Advitiya Bal.

Braveheart Flt Lt Advitiya Bal, Born on 16 Jul 1996 at MH Jammu, as a true “Son of the Soil” gave the ultimate sacrifice in the ‘Line of Duty’ on 28 Jul 2022 while flying a Battle Inoculation Training mission on a Mig-21 Type 69 trainer aircraft. The officer with his sheer hardwork and perseverance joined Sainik School Nagrota and National Defence Academy. He was commissioned into the Fighter Stream of IAF on 16 Jun 2018. The Bravery and supreme sacrifice made by Flt Lt Bal will always be remembered and inspire generations of this soil for years to come.

To mark this auspicious day of Indian Air Force as a red letter day, the ‘Bal Conference Hall’ of Air Force Station Jammu was inaugurated by Smt Praveen Kumari (mother) and Sub Maj Swaran Bal (father), parents of braveheart Flt Lt Advitiya Bal in the presence of Air Commodore GS Bhullar, VM (AOC Jammu) and Mrs Ruhi Bhullar (President AFWWA {L}) with senior Officers of Station.

The project for Development of Jakh (Vijaypur)-Kunjwani section of NH-44 to 6-lane Expressway standards as part of Delhi-Amritsar-Katra Expressway including development of Kunjwani to 4th Tawi Bridge section of NH-144A to four-lane NH standards has been approved at the revised cost estimate of Rs.1917.32 cr. under Bharatmala Pariyojana in the UT of Jammu & Kashmir on Hybrid Annuity Mode. Once completed, the stretch would boost connectivity to Jammu Airport.

Central Bureau of Investigation filed charge-sheet against RJD chief , his wife and 14 others in connection with land-for-job scam during Lalu's tenure as railway minister.

During investigation, it has been found that accused in conspiracy with then GM, Central Railways, and CPO, Central Railways, engaged persons as substitutes in lieu of land either in their name or in name of their close relatives.

According to CBI officials, prime properties in Patna were allegedly sold or gifted to the family members of the RJD supremo in return for railway jobs to their owners and their families.

's husband, Late Colonel (Retd) H K Suchdeva was a widely respected veteran and she is also the aunt of former Army Chief General Ved Prakash Malik. In a tweet, Mr Modi said that during the meeting, Uma Suchdeva gave him copies of three books penned by her late husband.

Mr Modi said, two of them are associated with the Gita and the third one titled 'Blood and Tears' is a moving account of Colonel Suchdeva's experiences during the traumatic period of Partition and its impact on his life.

Former Chairman of Tata Sons, Cyrus Mistry was killed in a road accident at Charoti in Palghar district of Maharashtra. He was 54 years old.

Local police said, Mistry died when his Mercedes car hit the divider on a bridge on the Surya river. He was going to Mumbai from Ahmedabad. Alongwith Mr. Mistry there were three others in the car.

Police said, apart from Mistry, one more person died in the car mishap while two other injured have been hospitalised.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has expressed grief over the demise of Cyrus Mistry. He said, Mistry was not only a successful businessman, but a young and someone at whom one could see with hope.

Taking to twitter, Harsh Vardhan Goenka, current chairman of RPG Group conglomerate said, Mistry was a friend, a gentleman, a man of substance. He was instrumental in creating the global construction giant Shapoorji Pallonji and ably led the Tata group.
