AASTHA, the women’s cell of CKBCC organized an event ‘Pranaam’ at Sarothi Old Age Home, Lichubari. This event celebrated the joyous festival of Rongali Bihu by extending our heartfelt greetings and support to the residents of the nearby old age home. A visit to the local old age home was done, where our students and faculties interacted with the elderly residents, engaged in cultural exchanges, and participated in activities planned to commemorate Rongali Bihu. The event was coordinated by Dr. Prerana Sarma.

CKB Commerce College family congratulates Nihar Kashyap, a student of B.Com. 2nd semester of our college, for winning Silver in Basketball at the North East Games 2024 held in Nagaland. We are very proud of his achievement.

In commemoration of International Women's Day 2024 and also as a part of celebration of the Diamond Jubilee year of CKB Commerce College, Jorhat, Aastha, the Women’s Cell of the college, hosted a special film screening event to celebrate the achievements and contributions of women from all walks of life. Dr. Prerana Sarma, coordinator of the cell greeted everyone and spoke on the importance of fostering dialogue, raising awareness, and inspiring the community to actively contribute to creating a more inclusive and equitable society. Sharing personal experiences and opinions, both from students and staff, marked the event's conclusion.
After this prolific event in the college premises, Aastha, CKB Commerce College Women’s Cell, Jorhat in collaboration with ACTA, Jorhat Zone organized a Financial Literacy awareness Camp for Women held in the adopted Gaon Panchayat of the college, 50 No. Dakhin Pub Namoni Charaibahi. This event saw enthusiastic participation from women eager to enhance their financial acumen and secure their financial future. Dr. Sarat Borah, Vice-Principal, CKB Commerce College inaugurated the programme. The president of the self-help group association Mrs. Anjali Gogoi was also felicitated followed by a speech from Mr. Joy Prakash Oza, CEC Member, ACTA Jorhat Zone who highlighted the significance of Women’s empowerment. Dr. Ananya Sarmah and Mr. Manash Pratim Goswami, the two resource persons for the camp, spoke on the importance of financial literacy of women and the various financial schemes available for the benefit of women. This initiative was not just about imparting financial knowledge; it is about empowering women to become architects of their own financial futures. This point was also highlighted by Dr. Chitra Duarah, Member, CEC(Women), ACTA Jorhat Zone. Mrs. Mallika Das, Associate Professor of the college also pointed the easy money scheme which needs to be avoided. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Anindita Sandilya, Assistant coordinator, Aastha, CKB Commerce College Women’s Cell, Jorhat.

📢 National Workshop on Data Analysis and Modelling Using Stata Software at CKB Commerce College, Jorhat

The Department of Statistics and Mathematics, along with the Department of Banking, successfully organized a week-long online national workshop from 1st to 7th November, focusing on "Data Analysis and Modelling Using Stata Software."

The workshop aimed at enhancing skills in the use of Stata, a powerful tool for research analysis widely utilized in various fields. The inauguration was graced by Prof. Ajanta Borgohain Rajkonwar, Vice-Chancellor of Assam Women's University, setting the tone for an enriching learning experience.

Dr. Jayanta Kumar Bora, a distinguished figure in statistics, joined us as a resource person, sharing invaluable insights and knowledge with around 80 educators, researchers, and students from different parts of India.

Our heartfelt gratitude goes to our principal, Dr. B.M. Hazarika, vice principal Dr. Sarat Borah, Chief advisor Mr. Rupam Sarma, advisor Dr. Raju Roy, Coordinator Dr. Sulaxana Bharali, and organizing secretaries Mr. Manash P Goswami and Dr. Ananya Sarmah for their guidance and support.

National Unity Day is observed nationwide in India on October 31st to honor the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, often referred to as the "Iron Man of India." Today , Students Support and Progression Committee of IQAC CKB Commerce College organised a seminar entitled Learning Managerial and Entrepreneurial Opportunities in business in association with GNOSIS,Jorhat. The programme was started by the welcome address of the Principal, Dr. Breez Mohan Hazarika and Rajendra Nargundkar, Vice chancellor of Prestige University graced the occasion by his presence and kind words.The resource person Dr.Arun Bhattacharya, Professor and Dean, Prestige University was the resource person and spoke on the topic.Sir, elaborately explained the marketing potentialities and emphasized on entrepreneurial opportunities .The topic itself is of prime relevance in today's world from enonomic point of view as well as unemployment among the youths. The General Secretary of GNOSIS, Mr.Ashwini Tassa and Mr.Ankur Gogoi, Assistant Professor, IIPM,Jorhat centre also witnessed the event.
