On this final day of Navaratri, presenting a small traditional Sopana Sangeetham composition. Though this was all done in a day's time, I am blessed to share this space with Shri. Eloor Biju & Shri. Kalamandalam Vineeth.

Aarambha - Day 6

I am so very glad to introduce my two favorite people. They both came to fulfill their desire to just learn dance. But we ended up warming up together, learning together, sharing stories together. I so love spending time with these two every week.

Anand: He is passionate dancer, currently working as a clinical research professional at Kochi. Despite his busy schedule he always, he finds time to learn and explore the artform. ._vibrant_menon_

Shintu: Most hardworking person you will ever come across. Shintu is a postgraduate in Malayalam who is currently pursuing PhD at Devamata College.

In yesterday's news..Vedu got a pair of new ear muffs/headset; so we had a full discussion about the product before the class. These two are the youngest in our Aatma Space for Dance family, though it takes a lot of work to keep them engaged throughout the class, I simply love spending time with them online. We have our share of tears and tantrums, we blame our bones for causing much pain while doing thattadavu, we curse the mosquitoes for disturbing us during class..but we have so much fun learning. Special word of appreciation to their moms for being very much involved in their classes and i believe they are learning the steps faster than the kids these days... 🥰🥰

Any time I think about Krishna and the beautiful ladies of Vrindavan, I have always wondered what if there were other young men same age as that of Kishna..were they intimidated and insecure with the ever charming, beautiful and mystical Krishna around them? What if they felt so lonely and unseen as all these women had eyes only on Krishna? What if a young man on the banks of the river watching Krishna playing Raas with Gopis confess to the full moon and silently flowing river beside hime of the fear being alone and how he wishes to fall in love with a charming woman? What if he is taken aback when a young woman comes to him and he mistakes her to be lost and guides her to the garden where Krishna and Gopis are? What if he is shocked to learn that she is there for him to spend that beautiful night with him and him alone? What if it took her innocent tears for him believe that he was always seen and loved by someone? What if they lived happily ever after unlike Radha and other Gopis?

2 more days to go...We welcome everyone to 'Sargam' happening on 18 March 2021 (08.00 PM) at Ravipuram Sree Krishna Temple.

Aatma Space for Dance is immensely happy and blessed to collaborate with a handful of brilliant artists to present SARGAM before you. For the first time we bring Kathakali, Mohiniyattam and Sopana Sangeetham - the iconic art forms of Kerala onto the same platform through Sargam. We will be presenting this small dream of ours at Ravipuram Temple on 18th March at 8.00 pm. We hope to see you all there to share the joy and happiness we had while creating this.
