December was dreadful; she started having these terrible coughs, which didn’t sound good at all. Doctors thought it had something to do with an allergy, but little did we know that the cancer that was almost cleared off and was nowhere to be seen for over 4 years, after the chemotherapies and doses of Trastuzumabs, had finally relapsed, this time determined to take her along with it. She fought like before, but she was weak in spirit and body. She couldn’t eat much after the metastasis was confirmed. It was too much for her; it had taken over her lungs and liver and was spreading to other parts of her body rapidly. We tried our best to save her. But we are also relived that she has gone peacefully without knowing further pain and suffering. It’s hard to lose a part of you. It’s even harder knowing that she felt the same way each day over the past few months. She kept talking all the way, even with the O2 masks on and with the constant strain to breathe. She kept talking and laughing till the last day, when she was transferred from the room to the ICU, and even scolded the doctor for doing so. She passed away in my arms on April 2nd midnight, with millions of kisses and whispers in her ears that we wouldn’t let her down ever and would live to keep her promises and dreams come true.

61 is in no ways an an age to go away like this. But that’s life, isn’t it….

We were extremely lucky to be born as her kids, know her love, live and grow under her warmth and be everything and anything she wanted out of us.

Life won’t be the same again for us. We are forever grateful to all those who’ve taken the effort to remember us. It was kind of soothing to see the support of friends and family alike. I may not be able to thank you all personally, but the gratitude will remain with me forever.

For us, life has lost a constant presence and unconditional love...
