Kshatham is a short film, Psyche Entertainments produced as part of the second 7 day filmmaking workshop led by filmmaker Sou Sadanandan.

9 very enthusiastic participants took part in this once in a life time opportunity in learning and understanding the craft. It was an enthralling experience for each of them as they went through all the processes involved in filmmaking - practically, theoretically and professionally.

Conducted a session on Introduction to Film Appreciation at the 3 day Film Appreciation Workshop organised by Kerala State Chalachitra Academy at Kollam for children aged 13, 14, 15.

Arun Varkey had been kind enough to find precious time amidst his many engagements to work the score of our second 7 day filmmaking workshop film - Kshatham.

This is the first time has worked with Varkey. During the zoom sessions with the participants we had elaborate discussions on the score ideas. Varkey was patient and receptive towards the thoughts and ideas of the filmmakers involved. The learning process was encouraging. We are happy with the background music.

Kshatham moved to its third stage of post-production when the film was taken to .varma at , Kochi, Kerala after the final cut for sound design and mix.

Nikhil Varma and his team of foley artists worked on our academic project with atmost enthusiasm.

We had a great post-production which began at after edited the teams version of Kshatham. was kind enough to find time and sit with us and mentor us through to a final cut which is now ready for release on May 26th on YouTube Channel.

"That film workshop was a journey of ten people towards a common goal.
It was equally exciting that the workshop's location was a mountain top in Vattavada.

There we met our Captain Soumya Sadanandan. She shared her experience in each and every side of the movie making,also demonstrated the importance of time management and discipline.We were learning 360degrees of film making,from thread to scripting, budgeting to pitching, Clap to production,art direction to
costumes, direction to acting, scenes to camera angles, planning to ex*****on. We were learning the academic perspective of movie making within a short period of time.

All of us got an opportunity to experiment our knowledge from basic to pratical through a short film project as part of our workshop. It was Soumya's passion for the
industry which forced her to conduct such sessions for beginner's.

Though we were ten different people, came from ten different background, we could work as a team under her mentoring. That's very important for an art form like cinema.

It was such a pleasant environment at Wildlinks with loving hosts and pets. They made our time there even more enjoyable.
We also made many new friends other than film workshop team. Also explored the advantages and challenges of people living in mountain terrain.

It was definitely a life time experience to cherish.Thank you Soumya for this friendship and grooming me to a professional.

has been a good friend for over five years now. I noticed him first during my feature film shoot. He was in charge of handling the making videos. While running through his footage later, I realised those had a certain perspective and each told a story.

Later after the film, we caught up and soon decided to collaborate in new projects. That's when our academic project Theetta happened and I called for him.

He happily joined as the Cinematographer and Cinematography Trainer. However I am sure he ended up doing all other work that was required to be done whenever I rested. He was my trusted ally.

Even the participants found him very warm. Last night of the workshop, I saw him and the team together preparing dinner for us all 😀🤍

Years ago when expanded his into a Color Studio too, I met Aby Benny for the first time. Sooraj introduced him to me as his in-house Colourist.

Over the years I have seen so much of his work and always felt proud of it. Sure enough when decided to take its Academic Project to post-production the first choice as our colorist was Aby.

He was patient and educative towards the participants as he worked out little film - Theetta. Team Theetta would like to thank you for the classic professional look and feel you have given the film. I suppose the most comments we received so far under our YouTube link is that the film looks very professional. That was possible because of the magic you had woven.

When we organised a call for Music Directors for my debut feature film , Christy Joby had sent his tracks for selection. Though we received around 700 applications, this one felt and vibed differently. I knew I wouldn't be able to work with him in this film. Regardless I called him and told him how much I enjoyed the tracks he emailed. I even promised him that we would work in the future.

5 years later, I called Christy and asked if he could join our academic project as Music Director.

He was now a busy Music Producer with many leading music directors in Malayalam Cinema, a busy Music Director himself working his magic in Short movies, The Synth lead to ResaTrippin Band performing at numerous stages.

Regardless, he happily agreed to take up - Theetta. He was able to accommodate his time and schedule to include zoom meetings and live meetings for discussions and educate our participants about what he has in mind musically for Thettta. The output was very satisfactory for the team.

.varma and have been a major part of my filmmaking career. I learned the significance of sound in cinema by working with Nikhil and the likes. The passion and focus with which he indulges himself into any work is commendable. Thoroughly professional, it's immensely satisfying working with him.

Discussions and bouncing ideas are an integral part of his work process. This gives so much clarity to the filmmaker.

His at Petta, Ernakulam is a fully equipped foley studio. One could say, it is one of my schools as well.

This is a humble Appreciation Post for the priceless contribution made by as the Editing Mentor for Theetta, the first 7 day workshop short film organised by .

When we connected with Sooraj, he was excited to be part of a project that had an academic angle to it. The contributions from him in the form of mentoring, support and suggestions were eye openers for the participants, most of whom, who were first timers to professional Filmmaking.

Sooraj insisted that it remain a Student Film and that professionals need not overtake the project. Which as a matter of fact helped the participants in understanding and learning the process and eventually evolve.

Amidst the numerous ad films and films that handles, thank you for accommodating our little venture into your schedule. The professional studio experience was important in the learning process and was the best 🤍🙏💐

Attending the film making workshop was a turning point in my journey as a filmmaker. It was an intensive 7-day program where I got to learn the art of storytelling, screenplay writing, cinematography, and directing. The workshop was conducted by renowned award-winning filmmaker Soumya Sadanandan, who shared her knowledge and expertise with us.

One of the biggest benefits of attending the workshop was the opportunity to connect with other aspiring filmmakers. I met people from different backgrounds and got to learn from their experiences. The workshop was also a great platform to network and make new contacts in the film industry.

During the workshop, we had hands-on experience in different aspects of filmmaking. We learned about camera techniques, lighting, sound design, and post-production. The practical sessions were highly interactive, and we got to work with professional equipment and software.

The most significant benefit of attending the workshop was that it helped me develop my skills as a filmmaker. Soumya Sadanandan provided valuable feedback on my script and helped me improve the story structure and character development. She also provided insights on how to shoot and edit the film to make it more impactful.

At the end of the workshop, my script was selected to be the next film, and I was selected to be an artist in my film. This was a great honor and a huge boost to my confidence as a filmmaker. The workshop helped me gain the necessary skills and knowledge to start working on my film project.

Overall, attending the filmmaking workshop was a life-changing experience for me. It gave me the skills and confidence to pursue my dream of becoming a filmmaker. I am grateful for the opportunity and highly recommend attending such workshops to anyone who aspires to make a career in the film industry. - 🤍🙏

9 aspiring directors,
Met at a beautiful place in the hearts of Western ghats called Vattavada,
To learn movie making,
Under our dear mentor and guru, Sou Sadanandan ❤️
Little did we know that the next 7 days is going to be as the most rigorous 7 days.
In those 7 days, we learned how a beautiful movie is born
Just like how a beautiful butterfly comes out of its cocoon.
We made a small script, worked on the pre production and production in those 7 days.
Everything associated with the pre production of our small movie from the germination of the story, making the character graphs, writing the script, pitching of the script,shot divisions and casting were done in just 2 days. We 9, our mentor Sou and our DOP Adarsh was our tribe. We were the cast and the crew 😊
And the next 3 days was dedicated to production.
Waking up at 4 am to catch the best light for shoot and sleeping at 12 am after finishing the clap report, those 3 days of shoot is something I will never forget.
My first journey in movie making.
Those 7 days provided not only the confidence to independently shoot my 1st short film but also a bunch of friends and a great mentor for a lifetime ❤️
After all the post production and Award circuits our small baby called 'Theetta' is coming to you now.
We do not have big claims. But you will definitely find the enthusiasm of 9 aspiring movie makers in this film.
