বসন্তের দিন এখন ৷ বাতাসে হালকা শীতের আমেজ ৷ দোল আসছে ৷ অনেক বছর আগে কয়েকবার পড়া এই বইটা আবার পড়ার ইচ্ছে হল৷ প্রথম বার যখন পড়েছিলাম প্রায় এক নিঃশ্বাসে শেষ করে নায়কের জন্য যে কী ভীষণ কষ্ট হয়েছিল তা ভাষায় প্রকাশ করা অনর্থক ৷ তখন বয়স ছিল অল্প ৷ আজ এত বছর পর বইটা আবার পড়ে এক অদ্ভুত ভাল লাগায় অভিভূত হয়ে গেলাম ৷

এ বইয়ের ভূমিকায় লেখক লিখছেন " যদিও তুমি আমাকে অনুক্ষণ মৃত্যুর দিকে ঠেলে দিয়েছ, আমি তোমাকে অমৃত করে দিলাম ৷ আমার মনের হিজলের শাখা থেকে মুক্ত করে আমার একান্ত পাখিকে আমি চিরকালের, আকাশের করে দিলাম৷"

সত্যি কথা ৷ প্রেমের পূর্নতা আসলে না পাওয়াতেই৷ নদীতে ঝাঁপ দিয়ে ডুব স্নান না হয় নাই হল, এক আঁজলা জল মাথায় ছোঁওয়ানোই বা কম কীসের ৷
এ উপন্যাসের পরতে পরতে ভালবাসার ছোঁয়া ৷ সঙ্গে একটু জঙগল, একটু কলকাতা শহর, আর অনেকখানি ট্রেডমার্ক বুদ্ধদেব গুহ আর তার প্রথম নায়িকা নয়না ৷ লেখকের কবিতায় শেষ করা যাক,

"সুখ নেইকো মনে
নাকছাবিটি হারিয়ে গেছে
হলুদ বনে বনে ৷"
