Ethos of Darkness

We have noticed growth of cinema but remained blind at those who made it grow. We exclaimed at the brilliance of scenes, even used rims of pages to write about the mastery of actors and directors, but never spent even a line to talk about those without whom no frame would have been visually through for projection. Having spent hours together in dark laboratories bereft of fresh air they developed negatives, cut reels, set proper exposure et al. And then only we can enjoy a film(cinema) and turn ecstatic at the of the maker of a film.
In our present endeavour we shall try to bring those poor people out of oblivion and tell others about those unsung heroes...

SONGSHOY (Full Length Feature Film)

The film revolves around four characters within a span of seven days in a hill resort surrounded by deep natural forest in North Bengal.
Anita, a widow of leftist poet Arannya with a history of left political loyalty because of her marriage and her 6 years old son Bubai. Shyamal a doctor, liberated, ambitious and advocate of globalization. Maitrayee, a radical leftwing activist represents three corners of a ‘space’ where a sense of dilemma exists in each individual. It is a confusing situation for Anita who wants to break away from a conventional left minded Bengali society to escape to a contemporary free global society that is emerging in West Bengal, India. Nobody knows whether thr drive will be prosperous or catastrophic for Anita and her son.
The characters meet one another head-on within a cloistered atmosphere of the hill resort on a weekend trip to sort out their point of views and in the web of confusions Anita falters on her responsibility of a mother, a tragedy strike, she looses her child.
Now, should Anita continue to explore the global route or get back to where she belongs and try something indigenous as some are doing?

Sri Ganesh Productions (Kolkata),started journey from 2005. First venture of this firm is "Songshoy"full length feature film which was selected
for 36th Indian Panorama and took part in IFFI2006.Avijit Banerjee is the man who is behind the screen to run this organization.
From 1989 he started his carrier in film industry as an assistant director. He is constituted attorney of a firm "Adjeet Advertising Agency"from 1994
and still it is serving to its clients,regional and national arena."Adjeet" produces different serials for different regional channels over the decades mostly
under direction of Avijit. "Avijit" and "Adjeet" ,became synonim in television world. Avijit was marketing consultant of different Government undertaking organizations.
In 90's, Avijit became popular to the producers of television,as marketing personal for their serials and documentaries. Avijit produces commissioned program also
for Doordarshan, under the banner of Adjeet,in 1998.More than thousands of episodes telecasted through different channels as director,one of which was brand leader
of a channel.Avijit started 24x7 satelight channel on education also ,under the banner of Adjeet, in the year 2013.But failed to continue. In today's context,
it was very necessary. At that point of time,Idea was times ahead.Mission "Shiksa"was failure.
Avijit directed his documentary"The Konark Code"which was exhibited in Jawaharlal Nehru Children's Museum, London.
Avijit was closely related with Rituporno Ghosh,eminent director of India for a quite long time.
A man with serious thinking along with commercial perception started dreaming under the banner of Sri Ganesh Productions(Kolkata).
Letest venture of this firm is"Ethos of Darkness",a documentary on those peoples,who were ignored by film industry in the past.
But those uncrowned people gave birth of other eminent stars of Indian Cinema.

Journey is still continuing.
