Kangsing snow and ice sculpture Association

To mark the India's 75th year of independence and to commemorate upcoming eighteenth meeting of Group of Twenty (G20), a summit scheduled to take place in Pragati Maidan, New Delhi in 2023. Kargil administration has invited us to show our skills with snow sculptures for the upcoming 74th Republic Day. We would like to thank Kargil administration for this opportunity. Five members has represented out team Kangsing for this task in which two are from Kargil District and three from Leh district. .batool first female contemporary sculptor from Kargil and first contemporary sculptor from Zangskar who has completed their studies recently. has been teaching art in JNV for many years and and has been with us in our previous projects.

Yesterday at we tried to come with another sculpture collecting snow from higher ground with the help of volunteers but we couldn't win from nature and it collapsed because of climate change. People here and believe that around this time in the previous year they have experienced around 3 feet snow here. Global warming is depleting our glaciers and we must take steps.
