26th Jan 2023. The day to remember forever for Unicols Group as 12 members of Unicols under the guidance of their Coach Col Bajrang Singh ran Continuously for 12 Hours in a Relay Format where each Runner has to Run 1 Hour each.

Mr Karnail Singh started the run and Rajneesh Kumar finished the relay strongly. The youngest was 13-year-old Aaryaman Dhameeja Who Ran 9.25 km in 1 Hour and the oldest was 57-year-old Famous Ultra Runner Ms. Asha Singh who Ran 11.6 km in 1 Hour. The Fastest was 17-year-old Rajneesh Kumar who ran 16.25 km in 1 Hour.

All the Runners are carrying the Indian Flag and later same was recognized by the International Book of Records and Unilcols became the first running group from Lucknow to hold the World Record Title " Longest Relay Running By Maximum People While Holding Indian National Flag".
These Runners have practiced a lot for the same and made the old saying true that the toughest route will take to the most beautiful destination.

Raining PBs in UNICOLs.. Only a week back many of them PRed and climbed podium in Lucknow Run..They did it again in Full Marathon at The Run Lucknow on 13 November..
Balbinder Kaur at 45 years of age got overall second position amongst women while PRing at 4:15..
Raghbendra who stood 4 th in FM at 3:02 had last week stood second in Lucknow Run Half Marathon..

Morning Interval Training

Team is going to participate on Sunday 13 nov 2022. Ready to ROCK.
Coach Col Bajrang Singh expecting more PBs in the event.

2nd anniversary celebration 🥳 of UNICORNs of Lucknow was celebrated today (Oct 20, 2022), attended by coach (Col Bajrang Singh) and lady of steel (Ms Aasha Singh) from USA through VC and Unicols from 1090 Chauraha, with great enthusiasm and zeal.

Needless to mention that the group was formed with sole aim to achieve BQs from UP, and number of Unicols including Ms Asha Singh, Raghbendra Singh, Mayank Awasthi, Dr Karnail, Angad Singh and Rajneesh are on their way to achieve this glory, besides our home maker turned ultra runner, Ms Bindu Singh,who already proved her mettle in several ultra races.

Other Unicols viz. Anurag Saini (who created records of sucessfully completing half marathons in a row upto 30 days), Vipin Dhamija, Vinod Mathpal, Sachin etc are also bettering their performances. UNICOL Dr Namrata is also doing well.

Ms Asha Singh, the lady of steel of Unicorns of Lucknow, has achieved an achme by representing India in several marathons and ultra races including IAU 24 hrs race at Bengaluru, London marathon 2022, Chicago marathon 2022 recently etc.

Cutting of anniversay cake and refreshments along with photo sessions were enjoyed by all the Unicols.

It was the day of x training today...but was it indeed a x training that this couple did ?
They got up at 2:45 am...got ready and drove 30 km to my house reaching there at 4 am... We were still not ready...to catch a train to Delhi..on first day of my itinerary to UK and US.
After loading the luggage in his car..we reached the train station much before time..
Wandering..was it a x training for this Unicol couple..
Yes it was..No wonder they are excelling in all their endeavours..

Today's Interval Training at UNICOL.

Thank you NMDC Hyderabad Marathon for sending us a beautiful Tshirts for our training sessions.

Two steel willed housewives turned ultra runner of Lucknow, represented India and performed stupendously in ASIA & OCEANIA CHAMPIONSHIP event organised at Bengaluru on July 3-4, 2022.

UNICOL Ms Asha Singh represented India team, consists of 3 ultra runners, and contributed 181 kms (PB) in 24 hours out of a total of 569 kms by team India, and bagged Silver for team India.

UNICOL Ms Bindu Singh again proved her mettle and secured 1st position by completing 97.9 kms (PB) in 12 hour ...

UNICOLs have become Nocturnal...They are active
during night and sleep during day..
Today's long run...A Nisaachar from Uttarakhand travelled all the way to run with their own species..in the night..Vinod Mathpal..hats off to your commitment...no..no.. insanity may be a better word.. Continue the madness..keep stretching your limits.. Congratulations on your 60 plus kilometres today..
Mayank, Angad, DrKarnail, Balbinder, Akhil, Asha and Anurag..you all are not normal..
DrKarnail Singh kept explaining the Police patrols that these Nocturnal animals are actually running and are out with no other motive..
The policemen when came to know that the two ladies doing run practice will be running 24 hours and 12 hours soon in a competition were really shocked.. later they assured that there is nothing to worry and they should feel safe . as the police patrolling will continue in the area..
This insane group of 9 runners together put in around 370 kms..
It was 38 degrees celcius in the night and no rational person will do an ultra in this weather..
But the Coach agrees these people are irrational .. eyes sparkling, head held high and goal in the cross hairs..
Together they consumed 70 litres of water..and finished the workout with heavy snacks and tea..
We were fortunate to have got the company of accomplished cyclists Mrs Nandita, and Dharamveer..Many thanks to you Nandita and The HE MAN Dharam for joining us in the morning.. We loved every moment of your energetic presence..
A surprise visit by Rizwan and Arpit delighted everyone.. Many thanks Rizwan and Arpit..
A moment of surprise came when in the darkness of midnight a person called me by name from behind and introduced himself as a runner and told me that he follows me on face book. He later came to our assembly area again to meet us before leaving..
Another unknown person may be he was a runner himself offered to give hydration support.. Pagalon ki jarurat pagal hi samajhte hain..
So proud to be friends with such mad people of steely resolve..

UNICOLs went long today.. Marathoners, Ultra Marathoners, Middle distance runners..from Lucknow to Kalimpong to Pithoragarh ..
They ran the distances as per their grouping ..from flat to steep elevation..
Coach too did 35 kms with his strong willed Unicorns..
Everyone is focused..

In addition Vinod Mathpal finished fifth in 30 km
and Anurag finished 9 th in 50 km despite being injured and covering extra distance as he took a wrong turn.
Vipin with Never say die attitude finished 30 km in 5:30..
