She became an officer at 23 years of age and created history by becoming the 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐈𝐀𝐒 𝐨𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐨 𝐛𝐞 𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐚 𝐂𝐌'𝐬 𝐨𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐞 (Telangana). She is popularly known as 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲'𝘀 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲𝗿.

Smita Sabharwal is a legend in her own right having been a consistent top performer with an AIR 4 in UPSC CSE. She had also topped the All India Class 12th Board exams and pursued her education from St. Francis College for Women.

But it is not her education that differentiates her but the will to be an extraordinary human that has won her numerous awards for her work and earned her the tag of being a People's Officer. Post her two decades of public service, she is now serving the CM of Telangana state.

Her most notable initiative is '𝐅𝐮𝐧𝐝 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐂𝐢𝐭𝐲' in the city of Warangal where numerous bus stops, parks, over-bridges were built in a (Public-Private Partnership) model.

We usually tend to work for a living but very rarely do we worship our work - here is where this personality stands out.

👉 "There's nothing called development in Bengal"
👉 "Bengal is far behind most other metro cities in India"
👉 "If we stay back in Bengal, our future and career is doomed"

Doesn't these sound familiar? Don't you get to hear these too often? So what do we do? Either we feel distressed when we hear such remarks, or disillusioned whether what is being said is actually true or not! But for a change, why don't we DO something about it?

As the saying goes "Action speaks louder than words!" So we have decided to make a sincere effort to address the constant criticism about Bengal, and extend a helping hand in bringing forth new opportunities to Bengal, to the best of our abilities.

Incidentally, prides of some stellar achievement parameters, while being compared with other states in India, but the inherent criticism and apathy about 'nothing happens in Bengal' seems to often overshadow the positives.

It took about 3-4 months to conceptualize, strategize and finalise on the action plan for initiative, and now we are ready to roll it out in a month's time. The digital teaser poster attached to this post is self explanatory. Our USP lies in being strictly apolitical, non-government, transparent, professionally managed and not-for-profit in nature.

I am thankful to some eminent industry leaders who have come forward and joined hands in this . These thought-leaders are either based in Bengal, or have roots in Bengal but presently located in some other part of India or abroad.

In case you are keen to be part of this initiative in a voluntary way, without disturbing your present official commitments, please fill up the Google form. There are various voluntary roles within the initiative, and we will revert to those who are shortlisted, very soon.
