I haven't seen a lake this beautiful ❤️ among many alpine lakes I've seen in the last six odd years.
The colors of the surrounding peaks change so vividly and so sharply, it's like being on some other planet and witness someone using a paintbrush precisely.
So many excuses, so little time to explore the world.
To be continued....
What weird reasons have you heard, let me know in the comments 😁
Urim and Thummin!
One says yes, the other one says no.
However, in the journey of life, both have turned the same color because journeys are treated with patience and self belief rather than omen.
Location - Hunder Sand Dunes, Nubra Valley. Aug'19.
Goa is way more than parties. Be there to experience yourself.
It's a paradise for adventure lovers, peaceful evenings where you can clear your heads, long walks on pristine beaches, spending quality time with your spouse or amazing cafes with local food.

That is why I love trekking. I get to meet so many people with so many different perspectives and personalities.

First sun rays on Mt.Kanchenjunga as seen from Dzongri top, around 5ish am.
It's almost every second where I feel the urge to be more silent and meditative. The silent voices on these white mountains were too hypnotizing for me not to give way to.
Alive doesn't just happen mentally, it starts with fresh air, sound of flowing water and the shade of grand peaks. All this makes you feel alive!!
The magic of Sahyadris truly reveals it's colors in the monsoons.
Took this while on a mini trip to Igatpuri in July last year.
The green is so green🌿💚!!
Happy Republic Day 🇮🇳

Always a blessing to witness the first sun rays caressing a mountain peak. In this case, the Grand Mount Shivling standing tall and graceful on Tapovan plateau, 14,200 ft.
A beautiful sunset in Gangtok. Taken one day after being back from Goechala trek. Reflecting upon the last 9 days.
I bow down. I bow to the greatness, I bow to the resilience and I bow to the effort it takes to get the mere darshan of these grand peaks.
In several literature, authors mention about the urge to climb mountains and always taking a piece with yourself. Slowly and surely if you keep coming back, there are enough pieces of memories, toil, happiness and tears collected that you become a mountain yourself, but you need to be open when you place your first step towards that mighty journey, open to be embarrassed, open to faith, open to letting your ego go away and only then mountains allow you to see them and climb them.

Peace in the high mountains!

Never knew these lines would turn out to be true.
Do you feel the same?
Soaking in the high of the mountain breeze that gently glistens my skin with mini raindrops.

A day comes when your mind and your body get exposed to "life". Where the days start off slow with your eyes waking up to hazy greens and mild sun.
After this day, you're not the same.
Fake preaching, same old childhood s**t doesn't resonate with you anymore, reality is different now.
It's a transformation! Good or Bad? No judgement.

Thank you for featuring my work in your weekly news digest ❤️
You made my day!🙏
That is the sole reason, a trek with IH isn't just a trek, it's an experience, where moments become memories!
Have you ever tried to tell your travel stories to your friends and family when back in the city. How was their reaction?😂
Not to generalize on this one, but we all have such intimate encounters with nature and the road, that it's not easy to put them out in words or even write them down.
Even difficult is a third party person to understand or feel what we felt.
Therefore, as beautifully mentioned in his book Vagabonding, "It's always to leave the best untold"
When travel is a trance, a meditation. Where you become one with your path, you are the path!
In .stephen 's "Becoming A Mountain" , Gautam Buddha and Lord Indira have urged their disciples to wander, to walk and explore the trails.
Lord Indira's preachings state "All his sins are destroyed by his fatigues in wandering. Therefore wander!
Living in the society of men, the best of men becomes a sinner. Therefore wander!"
In the pic - Mount Nanda Ghunti, as seen from Lohajung.
Look where your dreams brought you 🏔️
When I was into that bitterly cold right before pushing for the summit, I had mixed feelings. It was like, "it's getting dark too soon when will I get to be with the mountains on my own?"
However, the magic was in store for the next morning when the first sun rays hit Mt.Trishul.
The snow laden path was lit with fresh snow shining like micro diamonds.
Further climb up towards Jhandi Top, and what I saw cannot be put into words. Mount Trishul was crystal clear standing tall among the other grand peaks.
It was as Stephen Alter quotes it, "a darshan" of the mountain where it allowed us to witness such beauty and climb safely.
A picture that speaks a thousand words. In a world where people kill for religion, a man-made idea that takes over everything right from the environment to humanity. Sometimes for vanity sometimes for false ideology and sometimes bias.
The mountains are one for all. They won't discriminate between castes and religions. These grand forms of nature are all above petty forms of man-made ideas and one only realises this once they are under the shade of the mountains, toiling hard, applying effort.
In that moment, nothing seems more important, there's only one battle, one religion, one God within us and those are the mountains to be conquered.
In the photo - .faizan.shaikh kneeling before Mt.Trishul and realising this greatness on Jhandi Top while climbing towards Brahmatal summit.
What an amazing winter experience of trekking and getting uncomfortable in the bitterly cold.
We had it all, snowfalls to golden sunrises and clear summit views of the grand mountains Mt.Trishul and Mt.Nanda Ghunti.
All the preparations, all the anxiousness, all the toil and all the cold, everything was worth it in the end.
Thank you and for another memorable experience which is much more than just a physical climb. I am sure all of us have come out much better individuals.
Indeed everyone must trek!
On the Brahmatal summit, 12,250ft with Mount Trishul and Nanda Ghunti in the background.
Blessed to have witnessed such grand views and such an amazing experience with
Walking is meditative.
While walking agendaless in the woods for hours at times you tend to find solutions to the most complex problems and find creative ideas to work at.
Location - Detour at Naldhera, Shimla. We didn't prefer the horse ride, it's too touristy and boring. Insted we preferred the pine forest🌲
It's so easy to set out with your backpack full of enthusiasm and travel hard and fast, like an experience ju**ie, getting your next fix from the new, the novel, or the iconic. Most people do. If you keep going long enough, the hard burn wears off, and you begin to slow down , to go your own way. And you realise that the greater value is not in what you've seen and checked off the list, but in what you've learned deeply, the hard way. Have the guts to step off the backpacker highway sooner rather than later. Lay down the guidebook and just open your eyes. - Jenn Miller.
