LOST :

All this while when I was figuring out what went wrong and what I could do to save myself, I was able to see through a realm I otherwise thought of as inaccessible. For some reason, I could figure out who was being truthful and who was lying. I knew it somehow but I never told them. I just did not tell them that I knew.
This became the highest form of wisdom I could attain. I lost people while they were physically still with me. I lost meaning while still trying to figure out who I was. I forgot that I knew myself all along. I knew that it was the world manipulating me into becoming a weaker version of myself. I became vulnerable and I let many scavenge on me. Not because they could, only because I let them. (“Them” is a person, a circumstance, a situation, a party and much more).
I think it was only much later that I knew how necessary it was to be lost in order to be found. And here I am, without filters, without fear, without provisions, as real and raw as I can be.

This semicolon was supposed to be a full stop. I had stopped writing for myself. I didn’t stop on purpose. Something happened. I only wrote when I was needed to, not when I wanted to. I did a lot of screenwriting and writing for others. But that was never enough to feed the writer in me. I tried to write but I never completed any piece that I ever started. I even intended to write without intending to post it. I thought maybe I was under the pressure of sharing it with the world that I couldn’t write. But that didn’t help either. It was a struggle. I almost gave up. But then slowly and then all at once, I realised that this is who I am, this is what I am meant to do and this is what my purpose in life is, To Write. My music roots from it. You know I always write a poem, a ghazal, a nazm first and then the sound and the rhythm comes in. I realised that my films and photographs take birth from my writings. I make pieces of fiction so full images that the reader naturally begins to imagine it visually.
All of this made me realise that suppressing my own true nature because of people’s judgement or opinion or plagiarism is no reason for me to stop. I am now setting out on a journey to rediscover myself as the artist I always was and got the most love for.
Maybe this halt or this pause was important for me to begin again. I want to thank every single one of the few who stood by me during my block period and kept inspiring me. I want to thank God for taking away certain people from my life who overshadowed my true nature and took away the hours that I had kept for myself.

FOUND :

I think sometimes we need to step back and look at life from a zoomed out perspective. This is my bigger picture, I cannot be just one person. So here I am, allowing all the three of my alter egos to equally grow and occupy equal space.
I had stopped being what I primarily was, a writer. I took down all my writings and poems for reasons I was never scared of. I intend to make a come back as the Imaginary Poet that I have always been, this time with more music, photographs, my film work and all of what I do. I do it all with all my heart for the love of it and I share parts of it with the world because I like to. I share it for people to feel seen, heard, less alone and be relieved. Here is to creating art and providing catharsis.
