Few things to do if you are suffering from Sudden Hairfall 😢
1️⃣ Don’t stress or panic
• The more you stress, the more hairfall you will experience. It’s a vicious cycle.
2️⃣ Focus on healthy diet
• Start having healthy good quality food
• Iron rich foods like spinach, dates, broccoli, ragi, kidney beans, fish, pistachios, chick pea, strawberry, kiwi, tofu etc.
• Vitamin D rich foods like salmon, tuna, egg yolk, sun dried mushrooms, fortified foods or supplements prescribed by a Dermatologist
• Avoid skipping meals or fasting
3️⃣ Start using mild Sulfate free shampoos
• Use sulfate free shampoos & your regular sulfate shampoo once in 10 days to remove buildup

4️⃣ Avoid hard water to wash your hair

• Comb gently. Remove tangles from the lower part of your hair & then proceed upwards towards the scalp. This makes sure you remove some tangles at a time without causing a lot of hair breakage.
6️⃣ Make loose hairstyles
• Avoid making tight ponytails & buns
• Prefer loose hairstyles (eg. with a simple claw clip) to avoid traction alopecia

I apply Sunscreen daily yet I get tanned……..Why❓
We Indians have Fitzpatrick skin type ranging from 4 to 6 which gets tanned easily even with slightest UV exposure.
1. Use SPF 50 or more for better Sun protection
2. No Sunscreen can give you 100% from UV rays even if you use the best sunscreen with highest SPF!
3. Hence, along with applying sunscreen, resort to other measures of Sun protection too -
- Wearing full sleeve clothes
- Using Hat & scarves
- Using an Umbrella
- Using UPF (Ultraviolet Protection Factor) Gloves will driving a car or two wheeler
4. If you sweat a lot or stay in hot & humid place, try using Water Resistant Sunscreens.
5. Avoid direct sunlight especially between 10am to 4pm. Seek shade whenever possible.
6. Always use adequate quantity of Sunscreen. Refer to my previous posts for the same.
7. Use Broad spectrum sunscreen which protects against both UVA & UVB rays. Tinted sunscreen provide additional protection against Infrared radiation & blue light.
8. Re-apply Sunscreen atleast once during the day if possible

• Thin creamy, lotion like texture.
• Easy to apply
• Blends nicely into the skin

• Can get a bit greasy for very oily skin types. Such people can use this during winters.
🌀Works best for-
• Indoor application (or anybody who works from home), because Moisturizer with Sunscreen is not effective as a Sunscreen alone.
🌀My views-
• A little amount of this product forms a nice even layer on my skin. Therefore, the 2-finger Sunscreen rule can get very greasy for anybody with very oily skin type ( I have Oily skin). Hence, efficacy can be concerning.
• Did not break me out.
• I use it when indoors.

Botox 💉
👉🏼 Botulinum toxin is a drug made from a toxin produced by a bacterium Clostridium Botulinum.
👉🏼 The word ‘toxin’ is not actually what it means. It is not toxic. It’s actually a chemical that relaxes the muscles into which it’s applied.
Used in-
• Reducing facial wrinkles
• Elevate eyebrows
• Decrease crow’s feet at the side of your eyes
• Smoothens out neck wrinkles
Also used for -
• Hyperhidrosis
• Migraine
• Urinary incontinence
• Post herpetic neuralgia

Does rubbing nails really increase hair growth? 🤔
Did you know, there are only 2 FDA approved drugs for hair loss- Minoxidil & Finasteride for certain types of hair loss and that these can only be prescribed by a Dermatologist? 🤓
It is believed by many that nail rubbing increases hair growth by increasing blood circulation to your scalp❗️
But how❔
The funny part is that such claims are not backed by evidence and there are no studies yet proving the same 🤷🏻♀️
Sometimes, severe hair fall can occur due to issues like thyroid dysfunction, lupus, nutritional deficiencies, post- illness etc.
Imagine a situation where these patients resort to rubbing their nails instead of getting assessed by a Doctor ‼️
Please do not follow anything and everything just because you see such claims on the internet ❌
Try to find out if such claims are proven through any scientific studies.
Remember, anything that seems easy & simple might just not be the right thing to do 👎🏼
