Two elderly ladies, one Mrs. Sheetal Bhaskar Vanmali and Mrs. Ranubai Machindranath Mote have now become part of our family at our Ashram, Bhargavi Shankar Charitable Trust.

Mrs. Sheetal Bhaskar, 63 years, lost her husband 25 years back. She has no children and no supportive family too. She has been sustaining herself by working as a maid in different households. Now, with the Pandemic, she has become another statistic in the jobless sector. Unable to work in the households due to the restrictions posed by the Pandemic, she was being taken care of by her young neighbour who was like a daughter to her. As this young neighbour is herself economically challenged, she was brought to our Ashram, and we are glad to have her as part of our family.

Mrs. Ranubai Machindranath Mote, 73 years, lost her husband 3 years back. She is from Santa Cruz. She too is childless and has no supportive family. She sought the police's help to find a Shelter and the police directed her to our Ashram. She had difficulty in walking when she joined us, but, now, she has regained strength and is able to move around confidently.

Both are in need of some shelter and care in their twilight years. We are humbled to know that they found our Ashram to be a source and destination of their needs.

Our Ashram has been a home for the young hearted elderly.

Recently, it has become a transit home to a young man, Mr. Mohammed Ismail Shikh, who is 27 years old. He lost his parents when he was very young and his paternal uncle took him.under his wing. Mr. Mohammed Ismail Shikh grew up and was earning his livelihood as a painter.

Unfortunately, he has had a setback. A major nerve below his knee has got compressed and he is unable to even stand. His Uncle is now too old to provide for him let alone bear the medical expenses. But, God always provides a helping hand through good samaritans and one such person is Dr. Jetin K. Anand from Nerul, Navi Mumbai. He is undertaking the treatment of Mr. Mohammad Ismail Shikh at no cost, but, as the doctor does not have boarding and lodging facilities, he requested our Ashram to provide this facility, which we have whole heartedly agreed.

We completed his admission formalities and now he is a happy part of our family at the Ashram affectionately bonding with all our members. We seek for your prayers for his complete healing and that he is restored with good health soon.

We also thank God that we have such kind spirited doctor like Dr. Jetin K. Anand who is truly practising his profession of healing.
