Nematodes are very small, slender wormlike organisms that live in the soil. There are also some foliar nematodes. In monetary terms, worldwide loss was projected to around $157 billion, while in India it is $40.4 million. Crops, like tomato, bean, capsicum, carrot, and eggplant/ brinjal, are susceptible to nematodes. It is suggested to adopt various management practices like crop rotation, manuring, fallow land including solar radiation etc as a regular practice.

जैसा की आप जानते हैं, कि फसल प्रबंधन का कोई भी पहलू बहुत आसान नहीं होता, इसलिए महत्वपूर्ण है. लेकिन प्रभावी कीट प्रबंधन में बहुत सी चिंताएँ होती है, क्योंकि जैसे ही हम फसल पर या अपने घरों में भी कीट देखते हैं, हम उन्हें सबसे बड़ा दुश्मन मानते हैं (चाहे वो मित्र कीट या हानिकारक; या अपने जीवन चक्र के अनुसार भले ही नुकसानदायक नहीं हो । इसलिए कीट प्रबंधन सबसे चुनौतीपूर्ण है। इस कड़ी में हम कीटों से होने वाले नुकसान के बारे में संक्षेप में जानने का प्रयास करेंगे, ताकि कुछ हद तक चुनौती को पहचाना जा सके और समय रहते उचित उपाय भी किया जा सके। साथ ही समन्वित कीट प्रबंधन के अपने अनुभव को भी साझा करेंगे ताकि कम लागत में ही कीड़ों का प्रभावी नियंत्रण या नुकसान से बचाव किया जाए ।हम यह उम्मीद करते हैं कि ये कड़ी सभी हितधारकों के लिए उपयोगी होगा।

Crop disease management is the practice of minimising diseases in crops to increase quantity or quality of harvest yield. To have an understanding about the diseases, identifying the symptoms, weather conditions favouring the disease, its development process, different stages of a disease and knowing when and how to either prevent or effectively control diseases are the first step towards successful disease management. In this episode, we are also sharing our practical field experience towards the end of this video, with regard to effective control of Late Blight Disease of Potato under field conditions near Auraiya / Etawah in Uttar Pradesh. One must consider factors like variety selection, planting date, w**d and insect control, and soil fertility, and devise suitable strategies against them before we consider the use of fungicides alone.
