Growing up, we never had any fancy food to order from outside, never worried about calories and honestly, don’t remember getting bored of homemade food. We rather had homemade chips for those evening snacks, fritters for those rainy days, pooris/ bread pakodas for that sunday binge. Wonderful days those were.
Eventually, stepping into adulthood, the fancies available in packets, big banners with mouth drooling pizzas started attracting more.
Homemade chips were replaced with Lays/Kurkure, Fritters were replaced with pizzas. But came with this was also an unwanted guest ‘A protruding belly’.
So when my son was born, I promised myself to give him goodness of homemade food wherever possible.
No, I don’t intend to deprive him of these wordly delicacies. I just try and recreate them at home with as healthy options as possible. In the same stride, I ended up baking these homemade wheat garlic breadsticks at home. It tasted yum!!
