(Part 2/2): You know, I see tons of reels wherein small business owners are duped and defrauded but I never thought I would be a victim of something similar to that. This experience left me feeling so anxious and disturbed in the days that followed, I couldn’t get it out of my head. I was so fortunate to have friends and other business acquaintances who let me talk it out and helped me realise that sh*t often goes down in business and I shouldn’t be letting one encounter with someone, especially when they’re this petty and disrespectful being in the wrong, affect me and the business that I have worked so hard to get to where it is now. During the time it was going down earlier in June, I was extremely affected by it- it’s so stupid I actually cried for being treated this way, as if the world has ever been fair to anyone😂 Now I just find humour in the drama and laught about it. My fellow small business owners, Please please be extra careful when dealing with people. I never thought this small decision of mine to hire this dense little child who oversold his skill set at the time of application would end up not only majorly underperforming at the job but also shattering me so completely, I almost thought of giving up on my business because I didn’t ever want to deal with such kind of people again, being a person who gets extremely affected by being wronged at no fault of my own. I hope you guys never have to go through something like this. If you know you’re leading an honest business, always remember that you’ve worked too hard and invested too much time, energy and money to get to where you are today to be affected by people who mean nothing to you. And before I leave, if you’re going thru something right now, and you just want to vent, because I know how much some people might need to do that, you are most welcome to do so in my comment section or DM. (Part 1/2): This person went from saying the candles were thrown away and broken, to claiming I gave them to him because I didn’t like them, to telling me I should have asked for them before he resigned (dude literally went MIA after submitting his 2 weeks notice, so, me texting him to return the candles was literally me asking for them!), to refusing to accept that I had given him 12 candles out of which he’d misplaced 4 (and damaged 1). Notice how he uses words like ‘I think,’ ‘I don’t know,’ and ‘I’m not sure,’ indicating he doesn’t remember any details about the candles, much less their names and the number of candles I’d given him. The part in the chat where he says he doesn’t have any green apple or cinnamon or autumn spice, and then proceeds to find those exact candles later on in the chat is just further proof he’s just bullsh*tting at this point of time. His mother calls me up and begins by telling me that her son says there were 8 candles and she trusts him more than she trusts me. Which is fair, but imagine having to endure a conversation with a rude and illogically defensive mother of a son who screwed up and has either lied to her about the whole charade or roped her into playing by his story. You’ll see chats of the disrespectful approach she had towards me in the next reel which is already posted on my account. In the course of running this honest venture of mine, I’ve had a couple of instances where people have taken our products but not paid for them. All of that was forgotten about in due time, but the tone of someone being disrespectful towards me even though I did nothing wrong and only wanted to be compensated for my time, money and efforts left me feeling extremely disturbed, upset and angry that I didn’t get the justice I deserved.
