36 Hockey players(27 girls & 9 boys) of District Poonch represented J&K UT in different age groups in 67th National School Games 2023-2024. All are players of Sham Lal Hockey Club Poonch and most of them are trainees of KI Hockey Centre Poonch. Trained under the Coaches Pawan Kumar, Mukesh Kumar & Navjot Singh (all Hockey Coaches).

A friendly Volleyball match played between Khanetar Strikers (youths of village khanetar) and Khanetar Warriors (BSF deployed at khanetar) on the last day of 2023 and to start enthusiastic beginning of year 2024 under "Viksh*t Bharat Sankalp Yatra" programme . Sh. Nagender Singh Rautela, Commandant, BSF, Sh.Mazufar Hussain, Sarpanch Panchayat Dalera, Sh .Mohd Azad Kureshi,Sarpanch Bela Chouhana, Sh.Siddiqi Chauhan, Ex BDO Jaba Khanetar alongwith 08 Panchayat members, 06 Officers, 60 Other ranks and large number of small children witnessed the game . The game was played with true sportsman spirit & enthusiasm.
Khanetar Strikers won by 2-1 in a very close contest. Winner & Runner Trophy, Medals and Best Players Trophy was after the game which was followed by light refreshments. The event was well appreciated by the local dignitaries who had graced the occasion by their presence.

*Says Narco-Terror links found in Turkey, Canda, Paris; 2024 to witness a deceive battle against narco-terror, its handlers; links between narco-terror, separatists, terrorism nailed in 2022; Will reach out to handlers sitting in other parts of world through Interpol*

J&K police wasn’t fighting against the gun-wielding terrorists only but also the false narrative being spread by almost 8000 fake social media handlers sitting across with an aim to incite trouble and glorify terrorism, Director General of Police (DGP) RR Swain said Saturday.

“Our battle is not against terrorists only but against the narrative which is being spread by 8000 fake social media handles—facebook, twitter and instagram. Their handlers are sitting across and their aim is to incite trouble and glorify terrorism. They peddle wrong information. We are acting against them under the ambit of law after differentiating the genuine and not-genuine,” he said. “We will act against them under IT Act 61. If need arises, we will catch-hold of them through Interpol.”

Narco-Terror links found in Turkey, Canda, Paris: The year 2024 will witness a decisive battle against narco-terror. “The links between narco-terror, separatism and terrorism was already nailed in 2022,” he said.

“Links of narco-terrorism have been found in Kashmir to Jammu to Punjab and Delhi. Other links including the handlers were traced in Paris, Canada and Turkey. In the recent case of the Ramban narco-terror module, the mastermind was traced in Turkey.”

Cyber Crime, a lot more needs to be done: DGP Swain said that police are mindful about cybercrime and the fact is that this crime is going under-reported and affecting more people than what police actually knows. “We are upgrading the system and lot more needs to be done to prevent cybercrimes," he said, adding that large amount was traced and given back to the people who were cheated through internet fraud and digital world frauds—

Proud moment for Poonch sports fraternity especially Hockey that 21 players (14 girls & 7 boys) of Sham Lal Hockey Club Poonch represented J&K at 67th National School Games held at Gwalior (MP) in the age group of of U14 B&G and U17 Boys.

Pertinent to mention here that all fourteen players of U14 Girls team are from district Poonch & players of Sham Lal Hockey Club Poonch and trainees of Khelo India Hockey Centre Poonch coached by Pawan Kumar, Mukesh Kumar and Navjot Singh ( all Hockey Coaches).

Management of the club appreciated LG Govt. J&K UT and Sh Subash Chander Chibber Director YSS , Sh. Jatinder Mishra Deputy Director YSS, Sh Suram Sharma JD YSS and DYSSO Poonch for giving opportunity to young talented players specially girls to participate at National Level competition.

*Baramulla Police bids warm farewell to outgoing Probationer DySsP*

*Baramulla Police organised a farewell function at Officers Mess Baramulla in the honour of outgoing DySsP Sh. Naveed Shokat-JKPS & Ms. Kubra Nazir-JKPS* upon their adjustments.

While speaking on the occasion, *DIG NKR Baramulla Shri Vivek Gupta-IPS & SSP Baramulla Shri Amod Ashok Nagpure-IPS* threw light on the practical training of outgoing officer and commended their supervisory skills, professionalism, humane nature and decision making during toughest situations while under going through practical training.

In their farewell address, the outgoing officer shared their experience during practical training and extended their gratitude to all ranks of District Police Baramulla for their cooperation and indentation towards duty.

On the occasion, *SP Hqrs Baramulla, CPO DPO Baramulla,DySP Hqrs Baramulla, DySP DAR DPL, SDPO Pattan, SDPO Uri, SDPO Kreeri, SDPO Tangmarg & ADO DPO Baramulla* were also present. While speaking on the occasion, officers of District Police Baramulla threw light on the tenure of outgoing officers and applauded their policing skills and professionalism.

Later on, the outgoing officers were presented mementos as a goodwill gesture and DIG NKR Baramulla & SSP Baramulla extended their best wishes to the outgoing officers for their future assignments.
