1st December is Marked as a "Founder's Day"

Its a reminder of Gods Amazing Grace, Celebration of Ordinary lives committed in doing Extra Ordinary things for Christ. 🔥

It's 25 years ago on this Day " Vanitashray Vision" was launched at a small gathering, in a small space then was a place of Connection and operations at "Salisbury Park Pune" ❣️
it was a very Special day, i'd say a 'Divine moment' in the Spiritual Realm for us to see this Vision released as we walked in obedience to God and Celebrated with Family, Friends, Co workers and Well wishers.

Yet again, We CELEBRATE The GOODNESS OF GOD !!
THE FAITHFULNESS and PERSEVERANCE OF THOSE GONE BEFORE US. ♥️

“Pioneering is not an easy task, nor is it for the faint of heart. 🔥🔥🔥
“Truly, truly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it bears much fruit.” John 12:24 ESV

I hear the Lord saying, "Do not despise the Days of small Beginnings, the crushing and breaking!
Indeed, we've walked through many moments of great achievements, celebrations but nothing comes without loss, pain and sorrow. 💔
If I personally had a choice, i would've given up many many times but THE LORD HAS PRESERVED US, WALKED WITH US AND SUSTAINED US THUS FAR. 💯❣️
Reflecting on past 25 Years... THE LORD HAS GREAT AND MARVELOUS THINGS. ALL GLORY TO HIM.
There's been joys and sorrows...
Many a times We've felt as though we are being crushed and falling apart! The real truth of what you may not see in the moment is that you are breaking into the new!
This is not the end of the story!

I BELIEVE THE LORD SAYING - " I am bringing beauty for ashes, joy for mourning, and gladness from the heaviness!

Vanitashray is intentional in their " Orphan Care- Best intrest of a child" by Strengthening the capacity of families to provide and care for children is the best way to prevent seperation of children from their families, and ensure successful reunification of children back into their families or placement into alternative family care.

Many parents who find themselves without support from family or friends are faced with a series of impossible choices. Out of desperation, some families believe they have no alternative but to place their children in the care of an orphanage where they will have food and shelter.

Sharing One such story of Neema ( name changed) she's a women with determination, who refused to place both her ( specifically challenged) children in institution care. Vanitashray extended hand of help to preserve and sustain this family. We are extremely grateful for this brave mother, who is empowered and ready to take on a leading role to support / Empower other women through our skill training program.

Strengthen and Preserve marginalized families 🙏

India is predominantly a patriarchal society where girls are often not as highly valued as boys. Consequently, girl education is often considered a low priority, particularly when it comes to higher education. In recent Covid times, which recorded a spike in cases of child marriage, violence, abuse, trafficking etc.; girl education was the biggest casualty.

Vanitashrat is working since 2013 to strengthen the state accountability towards total elimination of Child Marriage and effective implementation is a very critical part for ending child marriages. The need is for a widespread action on a campaign mode focusing on the following, among others:

• Child marriage is a pure rights violation of children, especially girl children.

• The right to free and compulsory education should be extended beyond 14 years to cover children upto 18 years of age in neighborhood schools.

• The state has a clear role in ensuring a law and order situation by protecting children from being married off in the fear of insecurity of girls in an unprotected society.



Vanitashray has been working with concerned stakeholders at various levels since its inception to review existing laws and policies concerning girl children and adolescent girls, with a particular focus on child marriage. Giving young girls an opportunity to study further, providing vocational training and constant interventions ( being vigilant) in these Basti's in Pune Maharashtra.

“I was 16, when I was sold to brothel by my husband. I had run away from home, and met him when I was working as a labourer. He got me to Mumbai, and for a year I worked as a house help -- and gave birth to my son.
But just after that, one day, he took us to a red light area, and into a room. He asked me to wait there. I waited for an hour, and then went out to find him -- but people told me that he’d left. I got worried so I took my son and was about to leave, when a man stopped me. He said that my husband had sold me to him for Rs.40000, and I had to work there or repay him -- if I wanted to leave.
I was traumatised, for 8 days I didn’t get out of that room, I only fed my son, and could barely eat anything myself. I had no money, and no other choice. So on the 9th day, I took my first customer. I worked for 7 months, but even then I’d only saved Rs.25,000.
One of those days my husband had returned, he came into my room when I wasn’t there and stole all the money I had. When I came back and saw nothing, I was devastated.
I continued working and soon, I met a customer who was really kind and nice. He told me he’d take me out of here and marry me. I even gave birth to two daughters with him, but eventually I realised that he was already married.
I had 3 kids, and the last thing I wanted was to bring them up in the streets where I worked. With whatever I’d saved, I went to boarding schools and hostels, but everyone refused to keep them. That’s when I was put in contact with an NGO, and they helped me raise funds to send my kids to a boarding school.
I was at peace, and I paid all my debt off too -- I had nothing left, but I decided to leave my job and start afresh.
For days I looked for work, but noone employed a ‘s*x worker’. I begged for food outside temples and drank sewage water to get by. But just then, the NGO who helped my kids -- got in touch with me and gave me a job. I had to sell condoms to s*x workers and make them aware about STD’s. Soon they even promoted me to work at their office!
It’s been over 15 years, and today I’ve bought my own house, got my kids educated and married -- and I live a stable life. I still work with the NGO, and help as many women as I can.
I’ve lived some of the darkest days, that give me nightmares until today. I’ve lived not knowing if I’ll survive through the night. I’ve been stripped of my dignity and abused, time and again. But despite all of that, today. I’m standing strong and facing the world. I’ve left my past behind, and I’m rebuilding the life that was snatched away from me. A life where nobody owns me... and I’m free.”

Families are the real heroes of the 'COVID orphan' crisis Poverty, food insecurity, lack of access to education and daytime childcare — I soon discovered these were the reasons that children were ultimately being separated from their loving families.

As a counselor, I am honored to support women on their journey towards healing and growth. Through a compassionate and non-judgmental approach, I strive to create a safe space where women can feel heard, validated, and understood.

Counseling provides an opportunity for women to gain insight into themselves, cultivate self-compassion, and build resilience. It is a privilege to witness the transformation that can occur when women prioritize their mental health and well-being.

On the 1st December Vanitashray NGO Pune celebrates 24years of its ministry- hence a "Founder's Day" is Marked with great pride and Gratitute.

Today, i want to give an emphasis on a Character displayed by the Founder out of many values left for us to follow- Legacy !!
Rev. Silas knew and practiced this scripture through his approach by loving and caring for those, especially would've been rediculed, dehumanised and never had the opportunity to excel in life.
He loved God and His people, never giving up.on people especially when they were rejected and labeled by society.
His Pastoral care has gone to an extend of seeing much fruit , through many individuals today, who have stayed put in their respective calling.

To see such transformation, he was willing to go extra mile at a cost of being humiliated, rediculed and even outcast.
He never gave up on people !!
Especially his own. 👋
