To reduce period poverty through the Off Period Poverty Program, Onpery® offers a ‘Buy 1, Subsidize 1’ special package across all its menstrual products in B2C sale channels, to support financially underprivileged menstruators.

One-half of the package is shipped to the purchasing customer, and another half is given (donated) to a social outreach partner.

‘Off Period Poverty’ Program aims to reduce period poverty, through innovation in (1) product usability, (2) awareness materials and methodology, intervention in product’s (3) affordability and (4) accessibility; as (rural) menstruators still lack access to menstrual products, awareness, hygiene facilities and waste management - which gets amplified in a financially underprivileged family having multiple menstruators.

We are glad to have GD Goenka Public School Ranchi as our for the Onpery Academy Program.

The Onpery team and school teachers conducted a seminar on children’s wellness (covering the ‘safety from bad touch and bad see’ chapter from SafeRoom™ and the ‘menstruation’ chapter from PeriodRoom™), on NATIONAL GIRL CHILD DAY 2024. Further to immerse with the ‘Draft National Menstrual Hygiene Policy, 2023’ by The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, both parties decided to conduct a few more activities in the coming months.

During research, the Onpery® team identified the following three major problems faced by schools and guardians in the current system:
a. Lack of materials:
Lack of communication materials and friendly methodology to talk about sensitive topics with children.
b. Hesitation to talk:
Teachers and guardians are hesitant to directly talk about sensitive topics directly with their children.
c. Low immersion with ‘Draft National Menstrual Hygiene Policy, 2023’?:
Schools lacking alignment with the policy strategy in ‘Draft National Menstrual Hygiene Policy, 2023’.
