National Safe Motherhood Day is celebrated in various parts of the world, including our country. A mother holds a central role in a child's life, and her place cannot be replaced by any other relationship. This special day honors every mother and celebrates the spirit of motherhood and maternal bond. On this occasion, our members were present in the NBMCH Pediatric Department, where we felicitated two pediatricians, Dr. Mita Mohanty and Dr. Swapanendra Narayan Sarkar. Our respected member, Dr. Pema Sen, gave valuable information and suggestions to all the lactating mothers. We distributed various nutritious food items among the mothers and children, which benefited both their health. Therefore, it was an eventful and informative awareness program.

Celebration of International Day of Happiness

The International Day of Happiness is celebrated every year with a unique theme that reflects current global challenges and aspirations. This year, the theme for 2024 is "Building a Happier World Together". Mental well-being has become a vital issue nowadays as most people around the world are suffering from loneliness, depression, and anxiety. Being happy is the foremost criterion for dealing with these mental problems. Happiness improves relationships, enhances productivity, and helps build a sound mind and body.
To spread happiness among the children, IWC Siliguri celebrated the day with less privileged children. On 22nd March, at Adarsh Mahavidyalay, a cultural program was organized where children participated in dancing, singing, skits, and other activities. Our club members took part in the celebration with the school authority and talked about the importance of extracurricular activities that bring happiness to the children's faces.
