In a momentous celebration of the National Cadet Corps' 75-year legacy, Government Higher Secondary School in Tawang hosted a vibrant event in its auditorium. NCC cadres from the school, collegians from Dorjee Khandu Government College, and distinguished guests, including Major General Gagan Deep (ADG of NCC, North Eastern Region) and Mr. Hrider Phuntsok (DDSE), came together for an program filled with pride and inspiration.
The auditorium buzzed with energy as the NCC cadres and collegians showcased their discipline and culture dance . Major General Gagan Deep delivered an inspiring address, emphasizing the NCC's role in shaping youth leadership.

Tawang:: 19/11/2023 North East Region Car Rally Reaches Tawang As part of the glorious 75 years of the National Cadet Corps (NCC), the NCC Directorate North East Region has organized a special outreach program in the form of a Car Rally. This amazing rally, spanning over 3,500 km in 21 days, aims to foster a sense of camaraderie, leadership, sportsmanship, adventure, and patriotism among the youth. The Car Rally was flagged off by the Chief Minister of Meghalaya, Conrad Sangma, on 6th November 2023. Led by Major General Gagan Deep, the Additional Director General of the NCC Directorate North East Region, the rally has now reached the enchanting town of Tawang today on 19th November 2023. Speaking of the rally's journey, the cadets also had the opportunity to visit the Government College Bomdila for an NCC Outreach program. Here, Major General Gagan Deep interacted with the cadets, motivating them to become role models for the development of society. He also shed light on the immense potential and opportunities offered by the NCC in shaping their future careers. We had the privilege of witnessing a spectacular function at the Tawang War Memorial, where the car rally was flagged in by the Brigade Commander of the 190 Mountain Brigade. During their two-day stay in Tawang, NCC cadets will have the chance to interact with dignitaries and local NCC Cadets. They will immerse themselves in the rich cultural heritage of Tawang and explore the breathtaking beauty of towering mountains and glacial lakes with crystal clear blue waters. Today the virtual launch event for Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra and the celebration of Janjati Gaurav Diwas was organized at the DC office, Tawang.
MLA Tawang, Tsering Tashi, along with Dr. Veena Kumari Darmel, the District incharge for Viksit Bharat Sankalp programme for Tawang district, flagged off the IEC vehicle from the DC office, Tawang. This vehicle will travel across 87 Gram Panchayat segments in Tawang district by January 23, 2024, carrying valuable informational materials to empower the community.
The journey commenced at Gyangkhar GP, where screened a documentary on the Union Government's visionary developmental initiatives. This was followed by the honor of beneficiaries of welfare schemes and the recording of their remarkable success stories through 'Meri Kahani Meri Zubani'.
Next, our IEC van headed to Kyidphel GP, coinciding with the ongoing 3rd Seva Apke Dwar 2.0 event, which was inaugurated earlier by Public Leader Tenzin Monpa, EAC Kyidphel Tsering Choden, and other officials.
At the Seva Apke Dwar camp in Kyidphel, MLA Tsering Tashi shed light upon the significance of Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra and Prime Minister Narendra Modi's inspiring vision of developing India by 2047. He warmly welcomed Dr. Veena Kumari Dermal and urged her to explore other areas like Mago and Jemeithang during her upcoming visits. MLA Tashi also expressed gratitude and pledged his efforts towards achieving India's development goals.
The event was filled with cultural performances, certificate distributions, agricultural tool distributions, and a generous donation of books by DC Tawang Kanki Darang to the Nahmed village community library.
