Happy Ganesh Chaturthi!
This Hindu deity presiding over obstacles (~Vighnesvara) has a human body with an elephant head.
According to Brahmavaivarta purana, he is the Lord of Wisdom & Moksha.('Ga'= wisdom, 'Na'= moksha & 'Pati'=Lord).
Below is the image of a large seated Idamburi Vinayaka (proboscis to left) carved out on a huge boulder at temple, , district, built by Veeranna and Virupanna governors of under Achyuta Dēvarāya of dynasty in 1530AD.
He has a huge belly (~Lambodara or Mahodara) severed with a snake as a belt. He is 4 handed, carrying
Pasha & Ankusha in the upper right and left hands. His right lower hand holds his broken tusk. As he is only one tusked, he is Ekadanta. His left lower hands hold a modaka. He is accompanied by his mount Mooshika (the mouse).
