To commemorate New Year celebrations, we organised fun games outdoors for the children of Dilia Aam village. Dr. Jyoti helped coordinate the event. The children engaged in many fun activities such as several competitions, storytelling sessions, there was nutritious food provided for the meals, and tea as well as snacks were distributed during the break.
To combat winter cold, blankets and warm clothes were duly distributed in Jarawa Banshi village, a remote, cutoff Adivasi village.
Every child has a right to basic education, yet millions in the country remain illiterate. We present an initiative very close to our heart- the inauguration of an open school for the local, impoverished children of Dilia Aam village. We provide them with free-of-cost education, supplemented by all the essential stationery and books. We are proud to share that we started with 25 children, and now we have 40 children enrolled in the school. Pramukh Poonam Devi conducted the inauguration to mark the occasion.
When deep winter arrives in India, many of the vulnerable groups are left without the most basic of protection from the winter cold. To help meet this challenge, we distributed blankets and warm clothes like coats, pants, sweaters along with the entire family, to the locals of Dilia Aam village. Blankets were distributed by Ms. Rohini Singh. Warm clothes were the courtesy of Mr. Anand Singh, our executive director.
Damodar River, which caters to millions of people, is getting very polluted due to human activity. Its banks were found heavily littered with idols, glass bottles, clothes, etc. We, along with our team of volunteers, before the Chhath Puja commenced, diligently cleaned up the ghats and collected the waste that had been dumped on them. It is, after all, a joint responsibility of all citizens to maintain public resources such as rivers.
The events, in a way, provide young people with the training in supporting needy people. It brings them closer to humanity and kindness. We held a sweet distribution event during the Diwali festival on 3 November 2021. We chose Surhi, Bokaro, which is situated in Jharkhand, to carry on our events because of the conditions there. This event was aimed to provide the underprivileged people of Jharkhand with the happiness and celebration of Diwali
Our team and many volunteers, young and adults, joined hands together for this blessed event. We believe that everyone should enjoy and stay happy during festival seasons. But there is a large portion of people for whom the festival means nothing special as they have nothing to celebrate. This event was an initiative to give them something to be happy about and make their Diwali sweet and joyous. We described it as a successful event as we received thousands of bright smiles.
The free stationary distribution event was held on 24 October 2021 in Narayanpur, Bokaro (Jharkhand). With donations and volunteers, we organised the event for the betterment of young children. The aim of distributing stationery like pencils, books, notebooks, colours was to encourage children towards education. With paint colours and other different kinds of colouring tools, we intended to boost the inner talent of children.
There are so many children who don’t even get a chance to get an education. Most of them don’t have enough stationary. Thousands of young children, teenagers and adults came in support of the event. We received a high amount of donations which helped us to bring smiles to so many faces. Education is a must for a better life, and we took a step towards helping them create something great. This is one of the many events that we plan to organise. And we hope everyone will take some time to add a little to help others.
One of our most successful camps was held on 12 October 2021 was the medical checkup camp. The event was held at Angwali, Bokaro (Jharkhand). We organised a free medical checkup camp for poor and needy people. Many volunteer doctors and nurses came to support this event. It was a big hit as we were successful in providing thousands of people with a much-needed checkup.
Due to the lack of money and improper medical facilities in the area, the people of Angwali are deprived of healthcare. We did full body checkups and educated them about the importance of sanitation and cleanliness. It was a whole day’s work; the event started at 8:00 am and lasted till 5:00 pm. We were impressed by the number of people who took this camp seriously and came to get themselves checked. If we join our hands together, we will organise such camps in more places. Come forward to help the needy and underprivileged people.
