On 7th September, 2023, Suramya Life Foundation conducted it's 5th training under its Awareness and Sensitisation Programme for Police Personnel and Administrative authorities on the rights and challenges of LGBTQIA+ individuals in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh.

We express our gratitude to the Lucknow Police Department for actively participating in this initiative. Collectively, we hope that with the department's participation, and support from Humsafar Trust, we are able to to spark a conversation to ensure that the police personnel will support the Q***r Community in their journey for equality and justice.

We were pleased to have an interactive gathering of more than 40 officials from the police force.

Phase 1 of Project Phulwari, an initiative by Suramya Life Foundation and Social Welfare Department, Uttar Pradesh; was kicked off on June 17, 2023. A cohort of young teachers were educated regarding mental health issues faced by students and a brief regarding how to tackle them was also shared.

Suramya Life Directors, Ms. Sukriti Rastogi & Mr. Pankaj Rastogi were invited to For Pride, With Pride organised by The High Commission of Canada in India .

Ahead of the launch of LGBTQIA+ cell at Amity University Lucknow Campus,
A Poster Designing Competition was held to encourage students of Amity University Lucknow to design creatives advertising the LGBTQIA+ Cell, with the creative awarded as the 1st prize getting selected for the same.

The above posted creative designed by Deeba Huda Sethi was deemed as the 1st prize by the judges.

Suramya Life Foundation, in collaboration with Awadh Q***r Pride organised a successful q***r sports day in Lucknow, on 26th June, 2022. The event witnessed a list of interesting group games including Kho-Kho, Kabaddi, Frisbee and Tug-Of-War. The participants had a lot of fun, as they won and lost, shared and bonded with each other.

Rani's Rangers (the team named after India's top drag queen Rani-Kohenur) won the Tug-Of-War while Ashok's Angles (the team named after one of the pioneers of q***r movement in India, Ashok Row Kavi) won the Kabaddi event.

Ruth's Rockets (named after Ruth Vanita, an Indian le***an woman who authored "Same S*x Love in India") trumped the other team in Kho-Kho event and Aryan's Avengers (named after India's first transman bodybuilder) took away winning certificates in the frisbee challenge.

Ranging from a recent school passout to professionals with two decades of experience, the evening brought together over 4 dozen people. We look forward to organising more such events in the future, that can build and promote intra-community bonding, while boosting mental and emotional well being of the q***r folks.

Keeping up with fun and frolic of the International Pride Month, Suramya Life Foundation and Awadh Q***r Pride bring to you Lucknow's first Q***r Sports Day.

Struggling with gender, sexuality, self acceptance and dozens of other issues, q***r children often miss out on the very precious moments of childhood. So, this is your time to pull your spirits up and steal a few hours of ultimate happiness.

This event is exclusively for the members of the LGBTQIA+ fraternity, for them to bond with their buddies. Only group activities will be organised here, which would further help us to build stronger community relationships. We are eagerly waiting to host you.
