- The world is left with agricultural soil for 80-100 crops, or another 45-60 years. 80% of the biomass insects have disappeared over the last 30 years and it is predicted that within 45 to 50 years, there will be an inevitable food crisis on the planet, which will bring tremendous chaos and suffering to populations around the world.

Soil as Carbon Storehouse: New Weapon in Climate Fight?
The degradation of soils from unsustainable agriculture and other development has released billions of tons of carbon into the atmosphere. But new research shows how effective land restoration could play a major role in sequestering CO2 and slowing climate change.
According to Rattan Lal, director of Ohio State University’s Carbon Management and Sequestration Center, the world’s cultivated soils have lost between 50 and 70 percent of their original carbon stock, much of which has oxidized upon exposure to air to become CO2.
Absent carbon and critical microbes, soil becomes mere dirt, a process of deterioration that’s been rampant around the globe. Many scientists say that regenerative agricultural practices can turn back the carbon clock, reducing atmospheric CO2 while also boosting soil productivity and increasing resilience to floods and drought.
Scientists also say that more carbon resides in soil than in the atmosphere and all plant life combined; there are 2,500 billion tons of carbon in soil, compared with 800 billion tons in the atmosphere and 560 billion tons in plant and animal life.
“If we treat soil carbon as a renewable resource, we can change the dynamics,” says Goreau. “When we have erosion, we lose soil, which carries with it organic carbon, into waterways. When soil is exposed, it oxidizes, essentially burning the soil carbon. We can take an alternate trajectory.”

Episode 1: Cliche post alert.
I would love to share the story about my Yoga Journey. (Also, I am not good with writing stories, so please bear with me.)
BTW, Happy International Day of Yoga.
So, Once upon a time... No no, that's not how my story begins, my story isn't that fancy, also, I am a little nervous... cause sharing is not my cup of tea. But well, I am here to break the limitation.
Here it goes.
For a very long time the word “yoga” meant “getting into shape”, somehow my mind just automatically translated it into that.
My YouTube search was mostly about
- Yoga to reduce hip dips
- Yoga for flat tummy
- Yoga for the bulky back. Etc.
Only after watching and listening to Sadhguru and reading multiple blogs, I understood that yoga is much more than “getting into shape”. Then what exactly is yoga was my next question.
Though there was awareness about this, it was still hard to unlearn, that’s how deep-seated the wrong idea of yoga was.
Even after knowing that yoga is not about weight loss, for a long time I practiced it with an intention to lose a few kilos and to get into shape.
After taking up few Isha programs, I started to slowly understand the meaning of it. It took me almost two years to fully unlearn the old idea. To be honest, I was in the processing stage even during the teacher’s training, yoga didn’t happen effortlessly in the training, I realize it only now because it happens much more effortlessly now. And I am still in the process of learning and understanding the true meaning. I am still evolving.
In my experience, just understanding the true meaning of yoga always enhanced and evolved my practices.
