Theme - Invest To End TB , Save Lives

'An ounce of prevention is better than a pound of cure.....Prevention is always better than cure.'

On the ocassion of World Aids Day 2019,a rally was organized by the Microbiology Department, Student's Council of Rajiv Gandhi Medical College and the team of Sau. Meenatai Thakre Nursing Institite.

It saw participation from First and Second MBBS students of RGMC along with the students and staff of Sau. Meenatai Thakre Nursing College, Thane.

The event kickstarted with a motivational speech by our honourable Dean, Dr. Sandhya Khadse on the importance of creating awareness on AIDS among the public.
Following her encouraging words the students marched out onto the streets of Kalwa, with posters and balloons chanting the slogans.

After the rally, the winners for various competitions held on occassion of World AIDS Day were felicitated. The winners of poster competition were

The rally was successful and we hope that the mission of spreading awareness on AIDS to the general public was fruitful.

Under the guidance of Respected Dean Madam Dr Sandhya Khadse , a live Webinar session was held on 18/10/2019 for ICANCL group (Indian Child Abuse Neglect and Child Labour)

TWO INTERESTING CASES OF CHILD ABSUSE AND CHILD NEGLECT admitted in our hospital

The session was presented by DR JAYESH PANOT & DR ASMITA PATIL with DR. SANDHYA KHADSE MADAM Chairperson ICANCL group

The session was attended by many faculties and expert across the nation as well as globally

On the 18th of October, ahead of the State elections- a Voter Awareness Workshop was held in the Medicine lecture hall by Josh Talks who motivated our students to exercise their right to vote and become responsible citizens.
Young voters were made aware of one of their greatest strengths in a democracy, the power of voting and were taught how to use the EVM(electronic voting machines).

It almost felt like yesterday, when they took their charge, when they glorified RGMC in cultural,social,sports,a nd academic sectors,w hen they made history with Zenith,Abhiyaan,Abhivyakti and sports giving us a 1000 memories and setting an example for all future councils to take their place.
The students council for 2018-19 ended on a high note, on 5th September 2019 where in the entire students council and team and their efforts throughout the year were celebrated, while they stood one the stage one last time as council members, and passed on the light to the new council with a bang, culminating their journey and bidding us farewell!

On the 6th of September, the first year students took the cadaveric oath in the dissection hall in the Anatomy Department.
All the students pledged that they would respect the cadaver and treat it with care as the cadavers even in their death have benefitted humankind for educational purpose
The pledge was led by the teaching staff of anatomy department and marked the commencement of the first year practical curriculum.

On the 15th of August, on the occasion of Independence Day the college organised a flag hoisting ceremony followed by a prize distribution ceremony for the teaching and non teaching staff who have won accolades in their respective fields or have gone out of their way in the pursuit for helping the underprivileged patients. @ Rajiv Gandhi Medical College And Chhtrapati Shivaji Maharaj Hospital

On the occasion of World breastfeeding week 2019, the pediatrics department organised an elocution competition in the medicine lecture hall on the 7th of August ,2019.
The program was graced by the Dean of the college Dr. Sandhya Khadse. The program had a huge participation.

All the participants were really eloquent and expressive while delivering their content and made an impact on the audience.
The added element to the program was a superhit marathi skit performed on breastfeeding which had the audience in splits.
The results were finally announced:

First - Ayesha Hasan
Also, Anam Aafrin Qureshi, a final year student won the poster competition at intercollegiate level.

The 32nd Indian Academy of Pediatrics, quiz for undergraduates held at Rajiv Gandhi Medical College Kalwa, Thane on 31st July in the Medicine Lecture Hall was conducted in a very eloquent manner.
It was graced by presence of our Dean Dr. Sandhya Khadse, a renowned pediatrician and by Dr. Vandana Kumawat, Professor and Head of department Pediatrics who enlightened us with knowledge in Pediatrics.
The competition was very interesting and engaging for the audience and the cases asked were the showstopper.
