About happily and ever afters !

I have heard many people say different things about a break from the routine mundane life.
I need to party every weekend to let go off the stress of the week
I drink every weekend!
I eat briyani!
I hangout with friends!

Many people want to live a different life more often than not!

All these let out give a hour, 2 hours or a night of dizziness and then a bad hangover..
A better way of lettikg go, break has been available for more than 1000 years thats getting fast forgotten. It gives a leash of different life throughout the time we are under its influence. And the feel good, joy remains for several days or weeks.

What can provide a better joy than a good book?
What can provide long lasting happiness and a smile or tear even after years of reading a book ?
What can provide the freedom of imagination than a book?
What can provide a beautiful high like a beautiful book?
What can let you live in the present, past and the future? Even a 1000 year back time travel machine?
To the sidney sheldon, sherlock holmes, kalki, charles dickens, agatha christie , Jk rowling, you have given me a 1000 lives in this single life.
A good book can give me what money cant, what food cant, what drink cant ! Its happiness .. beyond temporary pleasures

Childhood can have great impact on a person when he grows. Somehow the child starts believing he is that person repeatedly we say he is. So a parent can make a happy person, acheiver, calm person, irritated person, low self esteem person, self doubt person, arrogant person, selfish person.

A child is just a copy of your own behavior + your feelings and behaviour towards him.

Men and women are equal. Women contains Men. Women can do everything a man can do and beyond. Women can also go to work and earn money. Financial independence is the beginning to equality. Equal seats in bus. Equal seats in parliament. Equal pay at work.
Does all this define equality? Are men and women equal? What is meant my equal?

Wasn't this as absurd as saying coconut water is equal to mango? In what world would anyone compare coconut water to mango just because both of them are existing in this world and consumed in the process of world life.

Earlier on life, when i was young and foolish, i had a good friend who was a bit elder but also foolish enough, we used to discuss how buses should have equally divided seats, how woman cannot escape work by saying they have periods or show kid as an excuse, how woman cannot escape travel at work sitting family requirements. They should work equally as men and earn for their family requirements.

How naive i was. The day i had my C section done, i realised i could not sit on the floor for sometime without having back pain, or get up from seated position for long and recover to normal posture instantaneously. Then i thought about all those women sweating profusely travelling long just to reach their office/workspace and come back at 7 or 8 in the evening, standing in the bus looking eagerly if someone/ if some guy would get up and give her a place just to relax for sometime before she reaches home to cook dinner for her husband and kids. I understood the pain then.

How naive i was. The day i was doing some work at office but my heart was at home every hour calling to check if my kid was fine. Every minute, i wanted to get back to my home, to be near the kid and see if he was okay. Even when there were people around to take care of him but somewhere i felt the need to be near him as much as my kid wanted my presence. This feeling cannot be understood by anyone except for a woman with a kid.

How naive i was to comment on equality!

One day i saw my maid very tired and was saying she could not breath, it always felt heavy on chest as she was going through menopause. I was about to jump and tell her there is no connection between uterus and chest. They are two different body parts. Suddenly i sat back. Maybe there was something that was troubling her. Till the time i hit my menopause, i would not know, would i ?

How naive is the concept of equality! How can two people be equal when the entire project they are working on is different. One person undergoes multiple biological changes such as Menstruation, child-birth, menopause. Along with all these changes comes different responsibilities. The other person goes through different things as well but not biologically except aging.
One is not lesser than the other but doesn't mean both are equal.

If someday a man and woman is going to be measured, then they ought to be given equal responsibilities, equal physical/biological changes and equal opportunities.

Both are different! Before measuring equality, i think it would be better to appreciate the differences. Make space to accommodate differences and bring the best out of both.

Equality could be biggest myth we would assume we have acheived!

Very few decades back, the world was filled with readers. Lots of readers. Readers who read novels , readers who read monthly magazines, readers who read articles, poems. People loved reading because it was one of the main sources of entertainment! But very few writers. Very few who wrote and fewer published !

And now, there are hundreds of writers, thousands of platforms. But very few readers. Very few who kept their phone down to actually read!

Time to put the phone down. Too late for a book though! Probably tomorrow !
