People who are born with certain challenges remain increasingly vulnerable every monsoon before the Onam. They are rarely given attention in the mainstream press. Their stories are hardly devoted the same resources and legwork on the assumption that relatively few people read.
So, we went ahead and did it anyway.
Starting today, HappyAano and TheNewsMinute will publish a series of video documentaries directed by Ajay Govind that examines what it means to be living with disability in flood-risk Kerala. The project represents a slice of flood-hit Kerala, one that explores what the state looks like, through the vantage point of some of those who are often unheard and unseen.
