Tips to score well in IELTS Reading Module -

1. Read - Read a lot. There are a lot of strategies but that won't help much if you're a slow reader. You have to train your mind to read faster as this test has a strict time limit. Reading extensively will help a lot.

2. Expand your vocabulary - Familiarize yourself with different English words and their synonyms. Underline the difficult words/phrases you find while reading. Use dictionary to find out the meanings. It will help you build vocabulary, understand the target language and find the right answers.

3. Skimming - You should be able to skim through the text and understand the gist of the paragraph (especially helpful for match the list of the heading type of questions) It's okay if you don't know the meaning of certain words. Try to make sense of the text by understanding the context.

4. Scanning - Scanning refers to the ability to find out certain key words like dates, amount, proper nouns, time etc. This saves a lot of time as you are able to find out the location of your answer.

5. Drawing conclusions - These are one of the most difficult type of questions as you have to critically analyze the text and based on the evidences choose the most suitable option.

Developing group discussion skills is useful for everyday life as we regularly find ourselves having discussions amongst friends, family and colleagues. Group discussions are increasingly being used in the job market during interviews and selection procedures.

Moreover, group discussions offer an opportunity for extended english speaking (and listening!) practice by all of the contributors. Group discussion is a great tool to enhance your English language proficiency.
