ഇലഞ്ഞി :- ഒറ്റയ്ക്ക് താമസിക്കുന്ന വ്യദ്ധയായ അമ്മണിയമ്മയ്ക്ക് ഇനി ഇരിട്ടിനെ ഭയപ്പെടേണ്ട. വിളക്ക് കത്തിക്കുന്നതിനുള്ള മണ്ണെണ്ണ പെർമിറ്റ് റദ്ദ് ചെയ്തത് ഇനി പുന:സ്ഥാപിച്ച് കിട്ടുകയും വേണ്ട. തെരെഞ്ഞെടുപ്പ് പ്രചാരണത്തിനായി വീട്ടിൽ എത്തിയ എം.പി ജോസഫിനോട് അമ്മണിയമ്മയക്ക് ഒന്നേ പറയാനുണ്ടായിരുന്നുള്ളൂ. എന്റെ മണ്ണെണ്ണ പെർമിറ്റ് പുന:സ്ഥാപിച്ചു കിട്ടണം. കാര്യങ്ങൾ ചോദിച്ചു മനസ്സിലാക്കിയ ഇദ്ദേഹം വൈദ്യുതി കണക്ഷൻ തന്നെയല്ലേ കൂടുതൽ ഗുണകരമെന്ന് ചോദിച്ചപ്പോൾ അമ്മിണിയമ്മയ്ക്കും അഭിപ്രായ വിത്യാസമുണ്ടായില്ല. ദൈനം ദിന ചിലവിനു ബുദ്ധിമുട്ടുന്ന ഹൃദ്രോഗി കൂടിയായ ഈ വിധവയ്ക്ക് വീട് വയറിംഗ് ചെയ്യുന്നതിനുള്ള ചിലവ് താങ്ങാനാവുമായിരുന്നില്ല.
ഇതു മനസ്സിലാക്കി എം.പി ജോസഫ് ഇലഞ്ഞിയിലെ വിസാറ്റ് എൻജിനീയറിംഗ് കോളേജിലെ രജിസ്ട്രാർ പ്രൊഫസർ പി.എസ്.സുബിനുമായി ബന്ധപ്പെട്ടപ്പോൾ , കോളേജിലെ ഇലക്ട്രിക്കൽ ഡിപ്പാർട്ട്മെന്റും വിദ്യാർത്ഥികളും കൂടി വീടിന്റെ വയറിംഗ് ജോലികളും അതിന്റെ ചെലവും ഏറ്റെടുത്തതായി അറിയിക്കുകയായിരുന്നു. വയറിംഗ് പൂർത്തിയാക്കി ആവശ്യമായ കടലാസുകൾ കൂത്താട്ടുകുളം കെ.എസ്.ഇ.ബിയിൽ സമർപ്പിച്ച് പന്ത്രണ്ട് മണിക്കുറിനുള്ളിൽ അമ്മിണിയമ്മയുടെ വീട് വെളിച്ചത്തിൽ മുങ്ങി. സഹകരിച്ച എല്ലാവർക്കും നന്ദി പറഞ്ഞപ്പോൾ അമ്മണിയമ്മയും കണ്ണുനീരിൽ മുങ്ങി.
