"Transformers: Rise of the Beasts" improves on the franchise's theme of massive space robots inflicting devastation. The film's clarity and narrative focus are a welcome change from Michael Bay's wild blockbusters. Beautiful action scenes that show what's happening are a big improvement. The movie shocks by focusing on human people while appealing to longstanding fans with nostalgic icons like Optimus Prime. The writing lets Anthony Ramos and Dominique Fish back-build charming, relatable characters instead of one-dimensional clichés.

Two young people of colour, Noah Diaz (Ramos) and Elena (Fish back) are ostracized from a white culture in gritty 1994 New York City. This societal critique elevates the story. A soundtrack of '90s hip-hop music complements Pete Davidson, Michelle Yeoh, Ron Perlman, and Peter Dinklage's entertaining voices. Due to its prequel status, the film's final conflict lacks stakes and innovation, however, a scene after the credits hints at the Transformers film franchise's future. "Transformers: Rise of the Beasts" balances action and drama better than its predecessors.

The official remake of the French film NUIT BLANCHE, BLOODY DADDY depicts the riveting story of a narcotics inspector named Sumair Azad who fights to rescue his kidnapped son. Shahid Kapoor, in the lead role, gives an outstanding and natural performance in this film by director Ali Abbas Zafar. The adversary, played brilliantly by Ronit Bose Roy, is matched by Sanjay Kapoor's solid performance in support.

Zafar and Aditya Basu's screenplay is funny and has some great one-liners. Thanks to Marcin Laskawiec's skilled direction and cinematography, the picture looks great and is enjoyable to watch. Craig Macrae, Lee Whittaker, and Parvez Shaikh did an amazing job choreographing the action sequences.

The second half of the picture, however, is severely lacking in quality and originality. Unanswered questions and a predictable and underwhelming climax leave viewers wanting more. Other than "Issa Vibe," none of the tracks make much of an impression.

A strong performance from Shahid Kapoor, a fun first half, and well-executed action and dramatic passages help BLOODY DADDY win over audiences despite the film's shortcomings. Since it can be viewed by anybody for free on Jio Cinema, we can anticipate a large audience.

Shonda Rhime’s latest creation, Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story arrived on Netflix on May 4th, and as promised, it delivers us with a royal love story. Those who have been following the Bridgerton series, are well aware that this series is a spin-off of the original; but it has enough legs to stand tall on its two own. India Amarteifio and Corey Mylchreest play the titular characters of Queen Charlotte and King George respectively, and make all our royal fantasies come true.
This 6–episode long historical-drama is binge-worthy and leaves you wanting more. The series transports you to 18th-century England where a brazen young Charlotte meets her groom on the wedding day itself. And what could have been simply a political alliance, turns into a beautiful modern-day love story, making us wish that it was more than just fiction. King George’s mental illness and the horrific treatments by that era’s pseudo-doctors can be triggering for some, but his undying commitment to Charlotte and her safety will warm your heart. The fierceness of Charlotte and her fight for her love, her position, and her country is a true win.
The supporting cast of Agatha Danbury (Arsema Thomas as the younger version and Adjoa Andoh as the older one), Violet Bridgerton (Ruth Gemmell), Princess Augusta (Michelle Fairley) as Charlotte's racist, overbearing mother-in-law, Brimsley (Sam Clemmett) and Reynolds (Freddie Dennis) as the royal aides and confidantes to the queen and king respectively, have performed spectacularly, giving more dimension to the series. The series keeps on switching between two timelines, giving us a deep understanding of this tragic, royal love story; in its own way affirming our faith in love once again.

Chor Nikal Ke Bhaga is a clever, yet incomplete thriller that relies heavily on a single twist without building up anything concrete around it. Sunny Kaushal's skilful acting as the simpleton-turned-heinous-person protagonist helps set him apart from his contemporaries. Meanwhile, Yami Gautam benefits the most from the film's "one major" twist, turning her routine act into something to remember. Sharad Kelkar and Indraneil Sengupta, unfortunately, are left with underdeveloped characters.

Director Ajay Singh, who previously worked as Raj Kumar Gupta's assistant director, divides the film into two parts, before and after the twist. The problem lies in building up the routine hijack subplot to reach the juicy part. Ketan Sodha's background score effectively creates an impatient tone around the narrative, while Vishal Mishra's single love song fails to click.

It's worth noting that Raj Kumar Gupta is credited as the film's writer, yet his name is not mentioned in the initial credits or post-credits, raising questions from fans. Nevertheless, Siraj Ahmed and Amar Kaushik penned the story, which may not be a combo one would expect for a thriller, but it shows promise.

Overall, Chor Nikal Ke Bhaga is smart in new ways but falls short in some old ways, leaving the film feeling incomplete. Despite this, the film showcases Sunny Kaushal and Yami Gautam's talent, and it's worth watching for their performances alone.

Pathaan is a spy thriller origin story that marks Shah Rukh Khan's return to the big screen after four years.
