Bedwetting can profoundly impact a child's self-esteem, social interactions, and overall well-being. It also affects parents, causing worry and stress.
While the physical manifestations of this condition are widely understood, the psychological and emotional implications often go unnoticed or are inadequately addressed.

Let us understand how we can help our children cope up with emotional and psychological feelings accompanied with bedwetting.

Happy to be a part of Peritoneal Dialysis Workshop for Acute Kidney Injury. The workshop was arranged by the Department of Pediatrics, Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences of the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC).
It was a wonderful experience interacting with all pediatric faculty of the NMMC.
Peritoneal Dialysis is an effective method of treating advanced acute kidney injury especially in low resource settings. It can be life saving if initiated at the right time.

Glad to inform that from January 2023 , I shall also be available for consultation at the following centres in Thane

World Kidney Day (WKD) is a global campaign aimed at raising awareness of the importance of our kidneys. It is observed on the second Thursday in the month of March each year.

The theme for this year's WKD is 'Kidney Health for All – Bridge the gap to better kidney care'.

All of us (healthcare providers, policy makers, patients & their caregivers and general public) can contribute to increasing awareness about kidney health and thus bridging the gap.

Nephrotic Syndrome is a complaint for which patients are often referred to a pediatric nephrologist. It can be caused by various diseases/factors. However it is important for us to understand how does it affect kidney.

The Pediatric Nephrology Clinic will remain closed from 10th to 12th September on occasion on Ganesh Chaturthi and Ganeshotsav.

भारत जैसे देश में कई भाषाएं और बोलियाँ हैं। लेकिन बहुत से मरीज़ और उनके परिजन बीमारी से संबंधित सही जानकारी उन्हें समझ आने वाली भाषा में नहीं प्राप्त कर पाते । इसकी एक वजह है कि, काफी जानकारी केवल अंग्रेजी भाषा में उपलब्ध है।

इसी कारण, किडनी (गुर्दे) की बिमारीसे प्रभावित बच्चे और उनके परिजनों के लिए, आने वाले कुछ दिनों में हम हिंदी और मराठी भाषाओमें जानकारी उपलब्ध कराएंगे।

In a country like ours with so many languages and dialects, patients and their families hardly get any information about disease conditions in the language they understand or are most comfortable with.

In an attempt to make it easier for children with kidney related issues and their families, we plan to come up with patient education material in Marathi and Hindi (to begin with).

Any suggestions for conditions that need more attention are welcome.

A big thank you to Chattisgarh State Branch of Indian Academy of Pediatrics and Bilaspur Academy of Pediatrics for having invited me to speak on Approach to a Child with Oedema for their midterm CME.
