India gained freedom on 15th August 1947 and began its journey as a new nation with newer and bigger dreams. On this day, we recall the sacrifices made by our freedom fighters and the glorious path they laid down for generations to come and prosper. Each year on the Independence Day, our national flag is unfurled at the Red Fort by our Hon'ble PM to mark the occasion. This is followed by the Hon’b
Through the years Shri L. K. Advani had served as the President of the BJP for the longest period since its inception in 1980. Capping a parliamentary career of nearly three decades, Shri L. K. Advani was, first, the Home Minister and, later, the Deputy Prime Minister in the cabinet of Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee (1999-2004).
Shri L. K. Advani is widely regarded as an individual of great intellectual ability, strong principles, and unwavering support for the idea of a strong and prosperous India. As confirmed by Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Shri L. K. Advani has 'never compromised on his core belief in nationalism, and yet has displayed flexibility in political responses whenever it was demanded by the situation’.

Vijaya Raje Scindia , known popularly as the Rajmata, was a prominent Indian political personality. In the days of the British Raj, as consort of the last ruling Maharaja of Gwalior, Jivajirao Scindia, she ranked among the highest royal figures of the land.
In later life, she became a politician of considerable influence and was elected repeatedly to both houses of the Indian parliament. She was also an active member, for many decades, of the Jana Sangh and co-founder of the Bhartiya Janta Party.

He was an influential writer, who first started a monthly from Lucknow in the 1940s, that was meant for spreading his social and political ideology. He was perhaps one of India’s most radical thinker, who transformed the social and political landscape in the struggle against British Colonialism, by making the downtrodden politically aware of their own situation. Ambedkar famously said that bears immense importance even today – “Educate, Agitate, and Organise”.

India’s freedom movement against the British witnessed countless participation of people throughout the country. From Kashmir to Kanyakumari, Assam to Gujarat, thousands of men and women fought together to attain independence.

From what started as three horizontal lines of different colours, the Indian national flag now holds more value with the Ashoka Chakra at the centre.
The Indian Flag has evolved from 1906 to finally taking its present form in 1947. But one thing remained the same - it has always carried an emblem of valour and sacrifice since its first and every consequent adaptation!

A lawyer by profession, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel was also the first Home Minister and Deputy Prime Minister of India. He was a prominent figure in the freedom struggle and was proudly credited with the name ‘The Iron Man Of India’.
To mark his significance during the independence struggle and his contributions to the independent India, our Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, inaugurated the ‘Statue of Unity’, a colossal statue of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, on October 31, 2018.
