Identifying a granuloma in a biopsy is a mere Child’s play for any Pathologist.
But the actual role of the Pathologist lies in going beyond , identify the underlying etiology and sign out the report giving the most appropriate “Clinico Pathological Diagnosis”
This video talks about the Pathology of granuloma formation , the various granulomatous lung diseases and how to work up and sign out the report which will be useful to the Clinician in patient management

“This video features an interesting and novel experiment in pathology education. It features an in-depth discussion of a recently published article on smoking related interstitial fibrosis (SRIF). The paper is discussed between 5 pulmonary pathologists from 4 different countries. One of the unique aspects of this discussion is that a case from the paper is discussed in great detail using whole slide imaging (WSI), which allows us to show the histologic findings in all three sampled lobes separately in order to get a much deeper feel for the distribution of the pathologic changes and the heterogeneity from lobe to lobe, slide to slide and field to field. To my knowledge, the pathology in an interstitial lung disease paper has never been discussed in depth in this degree of detail in any forum, on any platform, ever. It gives viewers a chance to get a real sense of a published case rather than a single “representative” photomicrograph”
The paper we are discussing is:

Is it necessary to do bug stains in non necrotizing granulomas?
What is sarcoid like reaction?
How do you sign out such cases?
