This Video is developed for understanding the Winch Brake Rendering Test in detail. In this video a systematic approach has been adopted for clearing the doubts related to Brake rendering test and other related terms which often create confusion among shipboard staff while carrying out this test.
This video is bit lengthy as we have tried to cover all important aspects related to this test. for the ease, we have divided the whole video in 6 modules. The respective Module no. will be displayed throughout the video so that you can always track the progress of the video.
The video is very useful for both, Ship staff as well as shore use (Shore workshops, Drydocks, Marine surveyors etc..). This video is extremely helpful for onboard Chief officers and Chief Engineers those are directly responsible for keeping the mooring system in Safe and Healthy manner. This video is also very helpful for young Marine engineers and Marine officers for preparing this topic for their exams.
We believe in continuous refinement so that we could serve you the best hence request all of you to give your valuable feedbacks in comments or by writing on [email protected]. we will be happy to hear you.

Idea of sharing this video is to remember those happy childhood days, where games used to be played with own sets of rules without caring much to one’s perfection, and with any means could be a paper ball, a writing pad as bat and class teacher chair as wickets or sometimes a wall as wickets. All that used to create a natural bonding among pals.
Those precious moments have gone missing in this new era of technology. I am grateful that in spite of being one of the toughest professions, my profession gives me chance to explore and live those precious moments again.
Though some companies do not allow such activities onboard as it doesn't fit in their safety culture, but every thing doesn't work with the set of strict rules drafted in air-conditioned offices. Sometimes a person feel suffocated following these strict rules and at times he need real venting, which is possible by taking such few moves cautiously so that accidents could be avoided while doing such activities.
