Do you think AI (Artificial Intelligence) and VR (Virtual Reality) are transforming the art industry?
One of the most significant impacts of AI in the art industry is the ability to generate artwork autonomously or semi-autonomously. With the use of deep learning algorithms and generative models, AI systems can create unique and original artworks that are difficult to replicate by humans. This technology is known as Generative Adversarial Networks (GANs), which can generate realistic images, textures, and even three-dimensional objects.
In the case of VR, it has opened new horizons in the creation and experience of art. VR allows artists to create immersive and interactive environments that engage the viewer in a unique way. Moreover, it has also enabled the audience to experience artworks in ways that were previously not possible, such as exploring 3D virtual galleries, interacting with artworks, and experiencing performances in virtual spaces.
AI and VR are also revolutionizing the way we perceive and analyze art. AI systems can help art historians, curators, and collectors identify and classify artworks, identify patterns and styles, and even analyze the emotional impact of the artwork on the viewer. VR, on the other hand, allows us to recreate historical or inaccessible artworks, such as ancient ruins or lost masterpieces, enabling us to experience them as they were originally intended.
In conclusion, AI and VR are indeed transforming the art industry in multiple ways, from creating new forms of artworks to enhancing the way we perceive, analyze and experience them. As technology continues to evolve, we can expect to see even more exciting developments in the intersection of AI and VR in the art industry.

| I have got a story to tell | You are cordially invited to the opening of the Flaneur exhibition at the New Glasgow Society on Thursday, October 20th, from 18:00â21:00. I'm really looking forward to exhibiting a piece of abstract glasswork this week. An opportunity that would not have been possible without my mentor .
Juggling multiple priorities (academic, professional, personal) has always been difficult. However, as the words go by, "Passion is energyâ by Oprah Winfrey is an all-time inspiration in whatever I do and wherever I go. Drop by to show some love and, in addition, witness the masterpieces of my fellow mates and mentors.

Happy to be officially invited to this historic occasion and witnessed official transfer of six artefacts from United Kingdom to India in the presence of Deputy High Commission of India, London and other Indian government officials. Antiquities were illicitly removed from India by British Officials in the 19th century who later sold or gifted these to Glasgow Museums.
A ceremony was held at Kelvingrove Art Gallery & Museum today to mark the transfer, with dignitaries from the Government of India and Archaeological Survey of India in attendance. Thanks to the Glasgow City Museums, Duncan Dornan and Kelvingrove Art Gallery & Museum.

The largest Teracotta Fountain in the world - Doulton Fountain at Peopleâs Palace, Glasgow, United Kingdom.
The People's Palace and Winter Gardens in Glasgow, Scotland, is a museum and glasshouse situated in Glasgow Green, and was opened on 22 January 1898 by The 5th Earl of Rosebery.
Depicted in the design of the fountain are Britainâs four former colonies: Australia, Canada, India, and South Africa. Four sentries, one on each side, represent the regiments of Scotland, England, Ireland, and the Royal Navy.
The fountain became one of the most popular attractions at the International Exhibition, which ran from May to November 1888 and attracted around six million visitors. Glasgow at the time was the British Empireâs second city. The exhibition was designed to rival the famous exhibitions which had previously been held in London. The fountain was a focal point of the event and commemorates the Golden Jubilee of Queen Victoria in 1887.

Artist Rirkrit Tiravanija on honouring Mexican pottery traditionsâand the intoxicating inspiration of psychoactive drinks
The celebrated artist Rirkrit Tiravanija, whose work transcends classification but melds conceptualism with performance and relational aesthetics, travelled to the Mexican state of Oaxaca several times over the last two years to observe the time-honoured techniques of master potters from various villages. Tiravanija originally envisioned that he would create a âpottery recipe bookâ that would juxtapose reimagined examples of the craft with traditional recipes, which would be advised by the chef Elena Reygadas of the Mexico City-based restaurant Rosetta. But, as Tiravanija spent more time with the artisans and worked alongside them, the project evolved into âa more expansive, more ritualistic and ceremonial workâ, he says.
A wooden structure at the centre of the exhibition was modeled after an abandoned stone house in Rio Blanco, Tonaltepec, and filled with several ceramic pieces. Two large-scale paintings smudged with the black ash and clay that emanated from a mezcal vessel and a pulque vessel are also featured in the show. As with his landmark works that use cuisine and gathering as a mediumâsuch as Untitled (Free/Still) (1992/1995/2007/2011-ongoing), in which the artist and collaborators serve free food via a temporary kitchenâthe opening of the exhibition involved a lively sampling of the traditional psychoactive drinks.

Simon Denny is one of the first established artists to engage with blockchain ideology, creating works that render visible the strategies and aesthetics of the technosphere. Through ambitious multimedia installations and now NFTs, Denny channels the insights of cryptoâs prehistory into a critical vision for this precarious field.
His work often deals with the impact of technology on society.

Paul Philp is a ceramist, making pots that look to be âdiscovered rather than madeâ.
Philip began making ceramics over 60 years ago, starting out aged 20 making tableware. The artist describes his technique as âhand-built stonewareâ, which he makes from ceramic that has been fired at a high temperature. The characteristic dry surface of his work is created without glazes, using instead a mixture of china clay and Devon ball clay to which he also adds wood ashes. This mixture is added and fired on in repeated firings,
For a period of about 15 years during the 1970s and 1980s, Philp took a break from making ceramics, instead focusing on restoring and rebuilding Llansôr Mill in Monmouthshire, a Grade-II listed property using traditional methods. Philp describes this period of his life as living the âgood lifeâ, using traditional methods of the peasants of the Dordogne region of France, he grew his own food and kept a variety of farm animals. This emphasis on old country ways led Philp to learn a great deal about the wildlife around him. Despite the break from creating ceramics at this time, Philp says he never stopped thinking about the art form. The artist continued studying areas of personal interest including ancient cultures, oriental and tribal art.
When Philp began making pottery again, his brother, an art dealer was able to help in getting his work shown at major international art fairs. Over the years, Philpâs work has been featured in both Ceramic Review and Crafts Magazine, along with articles in Ceramics Art and Perception (2014) and La Review de la Ceramique et du Verre (2006). He is represented by a number of international museums and galleries including MusÊe des beaux-arts MontrÊal, MusÊe Ariana, Geneva and The Clark Centre for Japanese Art, California. The work has been shown worldwide with exhibitions in Paris, San Francisco and London, among others.
As we celebrate Indiaâs independence, let us free or minds from deleterious thoughts. Wish you all a Happy Republic Day!
