Ramadan (Tuesday 12 March 2024 – Friday 09 April 2024)
Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar, observed by Muslims worldwide as a month of fasting, prayer, reflection, and community. During this month, Muslims observe a strict daily fast from dawn until sunset. During these daylight hours, they are not allowed to eat or drink, not even water. Ramadan's typical fasting requirements are that Muslims abstain from food and drink from dawn to sunset. The predawn meal is referred to as ‘suhur’, and the nightly feast that breaks the fast is called ‘Iftar’. The spiritual rewards of fasting are believed to be multiplied during Ramadan.
Eid takes place at the end of Ramadan. The name "Eid al-Fitr" translates as "the festival of the breaking of the fast".

March 8 was marked as Women's Day by the United Nations in 1975 and officially recognized as such two years later. While countries across the world have since celebrated the day, its roots go much further back. The 8 March date was chosen after Russian women demanded "bread and peace" during a war-time strike in 1917. Four days into the strike, the tsar was forced to abdicate, and the provisional government granted women the right to vote.
In celebrating International Women's Day 2024, under the theme of 'Investing in women: Accelerate progress', the ILO puts a spotlight on the essential and inseparable roles of decent work and gender equality.
Maha Shivaratri (महाशिवरात्रि, Mahāśivarātri, 'The Great Night of Shiva') [Fri, 8 Mar, 2024, 9:57 pm – Sat, 9 Mar, 2024, 6:17pm] is a Hindu festival celebrated annually in honour of the deity Shiva. The festival commemorates the wedding of Shiva and Parvati, and the occasion that Shiva performs his divine dance, called the Tandava. It is a notable festival in Hinduism, marking a remembrance of "overcoming darkness and ignorance" in life and the world. Shakti (the woman) is the motherly love of God that surrounds us with warmth, caring and protection. Shiva is the paternal love of God that gives us consciousness, clarity and knowledge.
Celebrate the freedom by adopting the right food for yourself in the interest of womanhood.

World Diabetes Day 2023
Diabetes is a chronic (long-lasting) health condition that affects how your body turns food into energy. Your body breaks down most of the food you eat into sugar (glucose) and releases it into your bloodstream. When your blood sugar goes up, it signals your pancreas to release insulin.
World Diabetes Day became an official United Nations Day in 2006 with the passage of United Nation Resolution 61/225. It is marked every year on 14 November, the birthday of Sir Frederick Banting, who co-discovered insulin along with Charles Best in 1922.
The theme for World Diabetes Day 2021-23 is access to diabetes care.
Know your risk, Know your response is the slogan for IDF's campaign to mark Diabetes Awareness Month and World Diabetes Day this November.
The 4 Ts - words 'tired, thirsty, thinner and toilet' written in kids' fridge magnets — a treatment our audience could easily relate to — could be found in doctors surgeries and Parent & Child magazines across the world.
Eat sugar less; live longer without distress. Walk for few miles a day to keep your sugar level at bay. Diabetes makes your blood sweet and your life bitter. Get your sugar checked regularly; in old age particularly.

Food Freedom
“Food Freedom” — it's a complex term, with definitions ranging from ditching diet culture and restrictive diets to attaining good health and food security through growing your own foods.
It's marketed as an approach to address eating disorders for some and as a way to promote intentional weight loss for others.
Food freedom isn't a dietary plan. Rather, it's the attitude behind feeding your body intuitively without feeling like your choices are driven by the “shoulds” we often internalize from diet culture, says Monique Bellefleur, Ed. M, LMHC, a mental health counselor who specializes in eating disorders and chronic dieting.
Consult the dietician and nutritionist, Dt. Aeshika with KuD and get your customized and home-based personalized diet/meal plans without any starvation or portion control and enjoy the taste of your choice.

National Cancer Survivors Day is the first Sunday in June.
“Raise Awareness About Cancer Survivorship”
The first cause of cancer was identified by British surgeon Percivall Pott, who discovered in 1775 that cancer of the sc***um was a common disease among chimney sweeps. The work of other individual physicians led to various insights, but when physicians started working together they could draw firmer conclusions.
Sunday, June 4, 2023, is the National Cancer Survivors Day. NCSD is the day each year to honor those who are living with a history of cancer for their strength and courage. As of January 2022, it is estimated that there are 18.1 million cancer survivors in the United States.
Sant Kabir Jayanti
In Indian religions, a 'sant' is a holy or dedicated religious person. He or she is thus equivalent to an sādhū (fem., sadhvī). More specifically, Sant traditions are those in which a succession of styles and teachings have been developed and transmitted.
Kabir, (Arabic: “Great”) (born 1440, Varanasi, Jaunpur, India—died 1518, Maghar), was an iconoclastic Indian poet-saint revered by Hindus, Muslims, and Sikhs.
Sant Kabir Das Jayanti is an annual event celebrating Kabir Das's birth. The birthday is celebrated according to the Hindu calendar and falls on the full moon day of Jyestha month.
His writings influenced Hinduism's Bhakti movement, and his verses are found in Sikhism's scripture Guru Granth Sahib, the Satguru Granth Sahib of Saint Garib Das, and Kabir Sagar.
On this day, his followers remember his teachings and recite his poems together. Many Bhandaras are also held throughout India by many Kabirpanthis. Kabir was also a social reformer, so much social work is also done by his followers on this day.
World Bicycle Day
The idea behind World Bicycle Day is to recognize the versatility and uniqueness of the bicycle, as well as its reliability and sustainability as a mode of transportation.
The Netherlands lives up to its cyclist-friendly reputation and has the most bicycles per capita of any country in the world.
In 2018, the United Nations General Assembly declared 3 June as World Bicycle Day, a date marked on the sustainability calendar to underline the importance of this means of transport given its contribution to the health of people and the planet.
The bicycle's way into the Indian subcontinent can be attributed to colonial history. The Britishers brought this vehicle to the country to ride for leisurely purposes and some to flaunt their athletic prowess. By the 1960s, cycles would often be seen in towns and villages across India.
Known by many names, including the “velocipede,” “hobby-horse,” “draisine” and “running machine,” this early invention has made Drais widely acknowledged as the father of the bicycle. But the bicycle as we know it today evolved in the 19th century thanks to the work of several different inventors.
One of the cleanest cities in the country, the best way to grab the feel of Bhubaneswar is by cycling through its bustling neighborhoods. With almost 400 cycle parking stations spread across the city, it is quite too easy to find yourself a ride through this buzzing metropolitan.
The main center of bicycle manufacturing in India is Ludhiana.
Giant Manufacturing Co. (commonly known as Giant) is a Taiwanese bicycle manufacturer, recognized as the world's largest bicycle designer and manufacturer. Giant has manufacturing facilities in Taiwan, the Netherlands, China, and Hungary.
Enjoy good health by using a bicycle in your daily life. Another way to keep fit and healthy is to adopt good nutritious diet habits as a nutritionist and dietician suggested. Consult the dietician and nutritionist at KuD to get your personalized diet/meal plans and enjoy good, nutritious health.
Donut Day
Each year on the first Friday in June, people participate in National Doughnut or Donut Day, celebrating the doughnut and honoring the Salvation Army Lassies. The Salvation Army Lassies are the women who served doughnuts to soldiers during WWI.
In 1938, The Salvation Army in Chicago officially declared the first Friday in June National Doughnut Day in an attempt to raise funds during The Great Depression.
But really every day is pretty much doughnut day. According to IBISworld.com, the doughnut market in 2022 topped $7.3 billion and is growing.
The Official Dictionary Spelling of the word in question—if you're into that sort of thing—is “doughnut.” The expedited, simplified, Americanized spelling of “donut,” as Grammarist tells us, has been around since at least the late 19th century.
On this day, Dunkin’ goers can enjoy a classic donut of their choice – whether it be a classic glazed donut, a creamy Boston crème’, or a fun strawberry frosted donut with sprinkles.
Donuts are filled with carbs, which means you get instant energy as soon as you finish a donut. The sugar content in donuts helps you feel energized and refreshed, and the delicate flavor remains on your tongue throughout your marathon. If they're made with enriched flour, doughnuts provide small amounts of folic acid, thiamine, and iron.
Traditional donuts are not vegan due to their containing eggs, milk, and butter. Per capita, Canadians eat the most doughnuts compared to all world countries.
Enjoy the dishes like donuts to celebrate this event and enjoy your healthy life as well by adopting a good nutritious healthy diet/meal plan as suggested by your nutritionist and dietician. Contact KuD for your personalized diet/meal plans.
Pradosh Vrat [प्रदोष व्रत]
According to the Shiva Purana, a person who observes Pradosh Vrat will attain prosperity, children, and fulfillment of desires. Pradosh Vrat is also undertaken by women who wish to conceive children.
Pradosham is the 1.5 hours before sunset on the 13th Moon phase and occurs twice a month. This time is ideal to worship Lord Shiva and is the time of spiritual awakening and opens your consciousness to a new reality and existence.
The Budh Pradosh Vrat occurs on the Trayodashi Tithi of Shukla Paksha and Krishna Paksha, according to the Hindu calendar. It is an auspicious day dedicated to Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati.
One method involves devotees observing a fast throughout the day, for 24 hours, besides keeping vigil at night. In this method, the devotees can break their fast the following day only after performing Shiv Puja and offering their freshly cooked food to Lord Shiva.
Pradosh Vrat improves the position of the moon in the horoscope. Also, it improves the mental health and lunar elements of the body. It is believed that the position of Venus improves with the improvement of the Moon and similarly the position of Mercury also improves with Venus.
Aloo Raita: It is prepared with curd, potatoes, salt, and ghee and this brings freshness and strength to the vrat holder.
Kuttu Puri: This is one of the famous and mouth-watering foods that one can eat for a vrat.
Sweet Potato: Boiled sweet potato pieces are the best snack to have on this day.
Consult the nutritionist with KuD for your personalized diet/meal plans to include such delicious dishes while maintaining your healthy life.
World Milk Day is an international day established by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations to recognize the importance of milk as a global food. It has been observed on June 1 each year since 2001.
National Milk Day is celebrated on the birth anniversary of Dr. Verghese Kurien, who founded the brand, Amul, and is also known as the 'Father of White Revolution“. The National Milk Day highlights the importance of milk in human life. National Milk Day is celebrated on 26 November in India every year.
The history of dairy in the Indian subcontinent goes back roughly 8,000 years to the first domestication of zebu cattle, which is thought to have originated in India. By the beginning of the Indus Valley civilization (c.3300 – c.1300 BCE), zebu cattle had been fully domesticated and used for their milk.
Cows’ whole milk is a suitable choice as a main drink for your child from age 1. Semi-skimmed cow’s milk is a suitable main drink for children over 2 who are eating a balanced diet.
By itself, almond milk is smooth, with just enough gummy feel and nutty taste to seem, for lack of a better word, natural. In coffee, that texture and just-light-enough taste are perfectly balanced.
Consult the nutritionist with KuD and include milk and other milk products in your daily personalized diet/meal plans to enjoy good health.
Intergenerationality is the interaction between members of different generations. Sociologists study many intergenerational issues, including equity, conflict, and mobility.
Intergenerational families are constantly placed in situations that call for adaptation and adjustment so that they can continue their functioning as a family. For example, the illness of an older family member may result in the adaptation of caregiving by a younger family member, most likely a daughter.
Intergenerational Day was created on June 1 to reduce and eliminate the growing divide between the elderly and the young. The purpose of the day is to unite various generations by highlighting their commonalities.
Positive intergenerational communication can improve the mental and physical health of approximately 90% of seniors.
Through interaction between generations, a society can guarantee a healthier and more prosperous future for future generations.
Keep yourself and your elder generation healthy by following a healthy nutritious regular diet in your daily routine as suggested by the nutritionist and dietician. You may consult KuD for yourself and your elders for regular personalized nutritious and healthy diet/meal charts.
