Rameshvaram, a 30 years old woman, who has suffered from polio throughout her life.
In her childhood, her parents also held themselves back from including her in social gatherings because of her being differently abled
She never got the acceptance from the society and even more disappointing was not receiving from her own family too
She lost all her hope and confidence on Humanity, herself and her potential of living life

This is Shasha Ali, a 29 years old man who is has weak fiber viens. He is in this condition by birth and after several attempts of operation, their is no success achieved. In school, students and teachers used to discriminate a lot and make him sit outside the class to study. Now GLRA takes care of all the expense for operations, medicines, first aids, communicating,etc. the nurses are available to keep a check and motivate i life making Shasha more strong.
This is Santosh, a 19-year-old boy who is suffering from cerebral paralysis.
When he was born, he was hospitalised for 15 days. He can't speak or hear properly.
He used to just eat and sleep. But with Red AID India's help, he has become capable of sitting as the sisters provided him and his parents with assistance and ensured he took physical therapy and exercised to combat his disease. This is not all, Red AID India helped him get his knee surgery thrice, helping him to get better and rendering him with the ability to attend school on a wheelchair.
Dengue viruses are spread through the bites of infected Aedes species of mosquitoes.

A majority of diseases are treatable with physician-prescribed drugs like azythromycin. A single pill of such medicines comes at even less than $1. So, help make someone's life better by making a small donation. Help RAI with saving more lives.
Clean hands protect you from a number of infections, including NTDs, flu, diarrheal diseases, and COVID-19. To ensure positive health, washing hands must be practiced during such pandemics.
Neglected tropical diseases have become a worldwide fear and stigma. People fear that these diseases cannot be treated. But NTDs including Elephantiasis, Bilharzia, Intestinal Worm Infections, Trachoma, and River Blindness are treatable if diagnosed at early stages. These are even preventable if you know the preventive measures at the right time.
NTDs can cause disability. They can affect the functioning of the infected individual and even raise the risk of death of not treated at the right time.
A vaccine manufacturer in India, The Indian Immunologicals Limited (IIL), has received a green light for the Phase-1 trial of the dengue vaccine. They will be developing this vaccine in collaboration with the US-based National Institute of Health.
Human African trypanosomiasis, also known as sleeping sickness, happens due to infection with protozoan parasites. The disease is fatal if there is no diagnosis or treatment and the parasites keep growing in the body and interrupt the functioning of the nervous system. The positive part is that there has been 97% decrease in the cases of this disease between 1999-2021 according to WHO.

Keeping yourself and the people around you safe from vector-borne diseases needs hygiene. Ensure that the area you live in does not have unhygienic conditions or open defecation. It is also important to ensure that there are sources for safe drinking water.
According to WHO's NTD 2030 roadmap, 100 countries are expected to eliminate at least one neglected tropical disease by 2030. It is time that we start taking NTD seriously and aware people around us of the right measures and precautions to fight these diseases.

Contact with human faeces containing tapeworms may cause cysticercosis. The sources of infection are many and include ingesting or touching anything contaminated.
In certain cases, cysticercosis may appear as a lump inside the skin. Brain and spinal cord dysfunction may cause debilitating headaches and convulsions.
The highest burden of diseases in India falls on a number of poverty-prone areas. These diseases are most common in poor areas due to the lack of hygiene, clean drinking water and sanitation.
