एक दोस्त हलवाई की दुकान पर मिल गया। मुझसे कहा-
‘आज माँ का श्राद्ध है। माँ को लड्डू बहुत पसन्द है, इसलिए
लड्डू लेने आया हूँ। मैं आश्चर्य में पड़ गया। अभी पाँच मिनिट
पहले तो मैं उसकी माँ से सब्जी मंडी में मिला था। मैं कुछ और
कहता उससे पहले ही खुद उसकी माँ हाथ में झोला लिए
वहाँ आ पहुँची।
मैंने दोस्त की पीठ पर मारते हुए कहा- 'भले आदमी ये
क्या मजाक है? माँजी तो यह रही तेरे पास! दोस्त
अपनी माँ के दोनों कंधों पर हाथ रखकर हँसकर बोला, ‍'भई,
बात यूँ है कि मृत्यु के बाद गाय-कौवे की थाली में लड्डू रखने
से अच्छा है कि माँ की थाली में लड्डू परोसकर उसे जीते-
जी तृप्त करूँ। मैं मानता हूँ कि जीते जी माता-पिता को हर
हाल में खुश रखना ही सच्चा श्राद्ध है।
आगे उसने कहा, 'माँ को डायबीटिज है। उन्हें मिठाई, सफेद
जामुन, आम आदि पसंद है। मैं वह सब उन्हें खिलाता हूँ।
श्रद्धालु मंदिर में जाकर अगरबत्ती जलाते हैं। मैं मंदिर
नहीं जाता हूँ, पर माँ के सोने के कमरे में कछुआ छाप
अगरबत्ती लगा देता हूँ। सुबह जब माँ गीता पढ़ने बैठती है
तो माँ का चश्मा साफ कर के देता हूँ। मुझे लगता है कि ईश्वर
के फोटो व मूर्ति आदि साफ करने से ज्यादा पुण्य
माँ का चश्मा साफ करके मिलता है ।
यह बात श्रद्धालुओं को चुभ सकती है पर बात खरी है। हम
बुजुर्गों के मरने के बाद उनका श्राद्ध करते हैं।
पंडितों को खीर-पुरी खिलाते हैं। रस्मों के चलते हम यह सब
कर लेते है, पर याद रखिए कि गाय-कौए को खिलाया ऊपर
पहुँचता है या नहीं, यह किसे पता।
अमेरिका या जापान में भी अभी तक स्वर्ग के लिए कोई
टिफिन सेवा शुरू नही हुई है। माता-पिता को जीते-जी ही सारे

What is a Horoscope?
Although we generally take 'a horoscope' to mean an astrologers prediction of our future. Elements
Signs are allocated a different element in turn. This means that every fourth sign has the same element as follows:

Water Signs : Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces
