Heritage Ride
Ward - K east
Councillor and Marshal Asha lead a group of 5 members to Mandapeshwar Caves (borivali). Ride started around 6:15am from Marol Andheri east and we reached cave around 8am by WEH route.
History: Mandapeshwar Caves, meaning ‘Hall of Lords’, were cut by Buddhist Monks in the 8th Century. It was situated on the banks of the Dahisar river, which later changed its course.
Architectural: Mandapeshwar caves are a good example of rock-cut architecture in Mumbai. They were built according to the traditional Buddhist Cave architecture and have several chambers for prayers, meditation and lodging purposes. These chambers were excavated into the ancient rock formations and have an L-shaped corridor with carved pillars on the outside. These works of art depict significant stories from Hindu Mythology like the wedding of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati.
We ended our ride by having watermelon on the way and by 10:30am we reached home.

Meet our c*clist of the week!

Tejas started c*cling in 2021 during the pandemic and lockdown by borrowing a friend's hybrid bic*cle just to explore his Interest in c*cling. He loved the experience of exploring places on a bic*cle, witnessing beautiful sunrises. This experience led him to buy a bic*cle for himself after just 4 rides on his friend's.

What he loves most about c*cling is that one can just roam around and explore new routes and places within city and that fitness is achieved as a by product just while one is having fun.

We wish Tejas a long and happy set of experiences on his bic*cle.
