WFH... Really!
Are we so lazy, are we really turning into anti-social?

All I hear these days is work-from-home, a new way of life. I say “Are you serious?”. I cannot imagine a work from home culture, why are we so excited about isolating ourselves. Are we so lazy, are we really turning into anti-social?

Ok, when it comes to spending more time with your family... Awesome! however, there are many more solutions to that problem than WFH. Can't we all see that there are many downsides to this WFH concept (I am not going to go into these, but you know them already). Think about this, do you remember the Humans from the movie Wall-E, we are surely going to turn into them if this attitude continues.

Well NO, there is no way I could survive a WFH lifestyle, I need the human interface, I need to be around people, I need to shake hands, I need the human touch. We are not born to live a life of solitude, we are social animals. I will never accept this culture... how about you?

"Life is better when you're laughing"

whoever wrote that, nailed it. Yes, a little laughter can change your soul, and change the lives of everyone around you. These days though it may seem gloomy, but there is a silver lining to everything. Trust me, when this is over, the world will be a better place.

The past few days I have been spending a lot of time in the kitchen, cooking and cleaning. This gave me ample alone time. I kept thinking about everything that has happened in the past one month and is still going on. I realized that I started over thinking and stressing out a bit.⁣⁣
With the current scenario we have been asked to stay home for the next 21 days! That gives us a lot of time to over think, speculate and panic.⁣⁣ Now while what is happening in the world is not in our control but what is happening in our mind is!! So here I'm sharing some tips I have been following since some time to keep myself sane.⁣⁣

💛Vent out. Dont suppress those thoughts, even if it feels silly. Talk to a friend, family member or anyone who understands you. Call them, message them, video call them. Sharing your fears or worries will instantly make you feel better. If you are not comfortable talking to anyone then just write it down. Acknowledge your feelings and let it out of your system.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
💛Distract yourself. Watch a funny movie or web series, play games with your kids, teach your parents the new app they have been struggling with since a while, listen to music, crack jokes, talk about random things. Dont spend the entire day discussing about the latest news updates.⁣⁣

💛Think positive and count your blessings. Focus on the good. Of course there are a lot of issues we are facing, but be happy that you are safe and healthy, you are getting some time to reflect on your life, you are getting to spend time with your family, etc.⁣⁣

💛Nurture a hobby. I've started reading after years and whatever little time I get during the day, I spend it reading a good book. Draw, sing, write, take up an online course, hone your skills. This is also a good time to do the DIY activities you keep seeing on social media. ⁣⁣

💛Pray/Meditate. Every time I'm overwhelmed, you will find me on the prayer mat. Prayers have an amazing power to calm you. If you are not religious then meditate for some time everyday.⁣⁣

💛Take care of your health. Eat well, sleep well, drink lots of water. Do home workouts - yoga, zumba, cardio, skipping, whatever wor
