Security Guard Job Purpose:

Monitors premises to prevent theft or other illegal activities. Makes sure that buildings are locked after normal business hours.

Security Guard Job Duties:

Walks or drives around premises to investigate signs of intrusionResponds to all alarmsAuthorizes workers and non-employees to enter and exit the premisesContacts police of fire department in an emergencyKeeps a log of all visitorsWrites daily activity reports; provides them to employer on requestApprehends criminals or those not adhering to company rulesMonitors all parking situationsDrives any personnel to meetings or eventsNotifies people of rule infractionsDrives armoured car to other businesses as necessary to transport money, valuables, or peopleProvides valuable feedback to management about the security of a businessTakes care of any parking issuesScreens individuals as they arrive on the premisesMonitors the premises for criminal activityWrites daily reports and maintains a diligent record of legal and illegal activitiesAdjusts all temperature controls in the building to save money on power billsStops suspicious activities by asking for identificationIssues tickets or citations as required by company policyChecks any and all bags for suspicious or prohibited itemsInspects all points of entry to make sure they are secureStays in contact with other security personnel to make sure the premises is secure at all timesAnswers phone calls after official business hours

Security Guard Skills and Qualifications:
