The essence of my photography is the transformation of a visual encounter with the world into a memo
Solitude is a valuable practice. “Alone time” with God can allow God to examine us. It can be a time of knowing God more deeply, a time of strengthening, a time of refreshment, a time of sharing our deepest concerns with God, and a time of simply being with the One who formed us and loves us beyond our understanding.

“Composition” is how a photographer arranges the visual elements within the frame. This photo was taken on top of the Charminar in Hyderabad overlooking the old bazaar and traffic.

Walking around Costa Rica’s capital San Jose you’ll notice many people wear western clothes similar to you or me. In one of the inner city areas that I was working in, we had this wonderful opportunity to see young kids dressed up in their cultural clothes and danced to their traditional songs as part of an educational show for the community.
Costa Rican traditional clothing is full of both beauty and meaning. They reflect the country’s Spanish roots, economic history, and passion for fun and dancing.

Choose Joy. In every circumstance. It is an attitude that I am constantly investing in. This is not an easy choice to make but definitely a healthy habit to pursue.
This is one of my favourite photos and I have it printed on my office wall. I took this photo in Zimbabwe, somewhere in the rural district of Zambezi. A group of women, inspite of their poverty, grief, sickness, sadness, anger & hunger choose to celebrate a win by their local all-women sports team. The joy that I could sense in this lady’s face, along with her children dancing around, is an image that is etched in my mind forever. I’m glad I was able to witness this moment and capture it.
Give thanks for every moment. It's a choice you make.
The immediate danger of the pandemic may have passed, but experts say the emotional toll could linger for a long time. Pay more attention to your mental health if you haven’t before. There are many resources available now and all you have to do is reach out.
This photo was taken last year when I was at a medical clinic in Zambia that helped women and young mothers get vaccinations and other medical help.

Women and children of Nenyunga village in the Zambezi province, celebrate after winning a women’s sports tournament held by a local NGO. They couldn’t hold back their joy as they paced up and down the field singing and dancing. It was such a fun celebration to be a part of and glad I was able to capture their joy! Zambezi is one of the poorest districts of Zimbabwe.

Recently I’ve been learning about Alternate Photography processes like and . It’s been an amazing experience to go back to photography roots. There is weird joy when you spend hours and hours of trying and re-trying to get the correct exposure for your images and then you finally get it right. Digital photography has made us saturated with the thousands of images we take so it was very fulfilling to just enjoy the magic of developing one picture at a time. An exhibiting of our prints is held in Chennai at the till March 17th. Please do come and check it out and support our work. In the process you may fall in love with vintage prints like the Van D***s or Cyanotypes 😊

Walking down the streets of San Salvador, I saw these two kids playing behind their iron gates. Love the lines and composition. For some reason, I have quite a few photos of children behind window/gate bars 🤷♂️

One of the highlights of my visit to the Metropolitan Museum of Art a few years back was this painting by Chuck Close. This photorealistic painting is entitled “Mark”.
