Little known factoidâVedang () was signed up for Jigra seven to eight months after wrapping up The Archies in December 2022. âAfter radio silence post The Archies finished filming, Jigra magically sprung out of nowhere, because there was some chatter within people that âheâs done a good jobâ or something along those lines. The character wasnât emotionally draining (while playing Reggie). With Jigra, it felt like I had to get into this character, which was very different from what I did in my first film. I had to adapt and learn a new skill set, which led to a very different kind of growth as an actor in my second film,â he mentions.

Clearly, with music being such an integral part of his life, as is the case with most artists, operating to various frequencies must also be a part of getting into the skin of the character as an actor. I find myself, for instance, writing differently on my select playlists. Turns out, so does Vedang. âThereâs an artist called Quadeca, who feels like a rapper but heâs really not just that...he is making some really cool fusion music, which I like. Also, this indie band called Agnee (fire), which has been around a whileâthe bandâs lead singer is Kanan MohanâI have been enjoying listening to their music of late. Ahem...fun fact, since I am talking about everything now...for every character that I play, I like to make a playlist of songsâyou know songs that explain the journey of the character, at least in my head. I have a playlist, which is the name of the character I play in Jigra (2024) whose name I canât reveal but thereâs a lot of Agnee in it,â shares Vedang ().

No one saw it coming, but itâs happening. From being the star kid who the paps had zilch access to, to gearing up for her silver-screen debut, giving wings to her dreams was definitely on Rashaâs () agenda for 2023. And this is the year she is ready to soar.
C: Things have changed for you over the past year or soâyou are a legit movie star now. Is it overwhelming?
RT: Honestly, I am an extreme personâI either like completely disconnecting or I love the chaos and being busy. I like dividing my day and giving myself enough of both worldsâ the right balance of work and social life, and self-care. Each generation has their own problems, strengths, and weaknesses. For us Gen-Zers, being addicted to social media is common. Self-care can just mean sitting in a room with yourself or going for dinner alone. It is important to find yourself within the world youâre living in. If I look at myself a year ago and I look at myself now, I am a different person altogether. I grew up suddenlyânow I am more aware and comfortable with the person I am becoming. I have become more confidentâand I have realised the importance of values...especially of being kind to people.

Behind that âIâm just a teenagerâ vibe, Rasha Thadani () is old-school at heart; it is almost as if sheâs half-a-millennial trapped in a Gen Z mind. Midway through the interview, I (.later) think to myself, if we get the time to play a game of âHow well do you know the lyrics to everything from the Backstreet Boysâ to Whitney Houstonâs songs?â, Rasha will (probably) beat me to it. Even her maturity rivals most her ageâor, at times, those older than her as well.
C: The songs you played while on set were more millennial than Gen Z. How did that happen?
RT: It is because of my motherâ when I was growing up, I would listen to her iPod that mostly played classics. Ariana Grande and Dua Lipa happened way laterâit all started with Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey. I have grown up listening to I Will Always Love You by Whitney Houston on repeat. And not just English songs, itâs also Hindi songs like Aaj Jaane Ki Zid Na Karo by Farida Khanum or Abhi Na Jao Chhod Kar (Hum Dono, 1961). I am old-school in that sense.
