🐾🌺 Kanha's ecosystem is home to a staggering array of plant and animal species, including several endangered and endemic varieties. 🐯✨ The majestic Bengal tiger, the park's most iconic resident, roams these forests, playing a crucial role in maintaining the balance of the ecosystem as an apex predator. ⛰️💧

🦌 The chital can respond to the alarm calls of several animals, such as the common myna and langurs. 🐦🐒
A vocal animal, Chital, gives out bellows and alarm barks. Its calls are, however, mainly coarse bellows or loud growls. 🌟 Chital, mainly females and juveniles, bark persistently when alarmed or if they encounter a predator. 🐾 Fawns often squeal in search of their mother. 👶🦌
🦌 The Swamp Deer also known as Barasingha in Hindi grows antlers that carry more than three tines. Mature ones usually have 10 to 14 tines, and some have been known to have up to 20.🌟 Each year Barasingha shed their antlers after rut or breeding season and each spring as days lengthen male deer begin to grow a new set of antlers. 🌿
In the 1960s, the Barasingha population plummeted to just 66. However, remarkable conservation efforts by Madhya Pradesh Wildlife Authorities and Kanha National Park have boosted the population to around 2,000. 🎉
In addition to conservation efforts, Madhya Pradesh is vigorously working to increase the Barasingha population by utilizing Africa's renowned 'Boma' Technique. This involves trans-locating them to forest areas such as Satpura and Bandhavgarh.🌳 The Barasingha holds the status of being the state animal of Madhya Pradesh, while the Southern Swamp Deer or Hard Ground Swamp Deer is specifically located in central and northern regions of India. 🌏
The current global population of Barasingha is estimated to be around 3,500 to 5,000, which is primarily confined to regions in India and Nepal. 🙌💚
